Oh well, I guess they don't understand IWC or brands alike. What they see are just over-priced modified ebauche watches. Its easy to come up with those so-called evaluation points, like history, in-house movements, resale value etc. Few can appreciate the very fact that companies that strive to invest in and innovate complicatons, such as perpetual calender, minute repeater, tourbillion etc, are actually serious and passionate watch makers and IWC is one of them.

Come on, Innovation? I think you're confusing Technical Sophistication with Innovation. The Perpetual calender was by Breguet in 1782. The repeater by an english fella in 1687. Tourbillon again by Breguet in 1800. Lets face it, most complications were perfected years ago. Even the chinese do flying tourbillons below $3000.

Now quartz was an Innovation. Citizen's Eco Drive. Now, Seiko's brilliant spring drive, that's true innovation!

I'll be really interested to see which "true watch aficionado" considers IWC innovative. At the very least, that title amongst mechanical houses should go to the likes of UrWerk, Mille, JLC or even Omega/Rolex.

Personally, rubber for the look. Bracelet seems thick. Cut the rubber also heart pain but Patek accessories I would say are reasonably priced

Thought the questions would be 5167 or 5711? Since same 324 movement. Price difference almost SGD10K

how do u define reasonable? IWC is charging 700 plus bucks for a new leather strap for 3717 pilot.. even tag is charging 500 plus for a strap...

The Patek rubber strap is around 300+
The replacement leather strap for my Calatrava for example, is around $500+

From my experience, similar to the popular Rolex models, AD does not accede discount for 5711 or 5167. For their other models very slight, 3-7%. I may be misinformed but as mentioned, patek is very particular of their prices globally.

I commented that it was a nice watch and further ask where he buy and cost how much ... he told me he bought in china for 1000 RMB .. I though I heard wrongly and check with him again ... really 1000 RMB .. its a fake.. china really knn ..NOMOS also got fake one (or maybe I slow, today then know got fake )
