I'm aiming for an Omega Speedmaster (not immediate), specifically the model below. Anyone knows if this is an old model or something that is not readily available? I looked up the official Omega site but the models there doesn't seem to be exactly the same.

Personally I think the Speedmaster looks damn gorgeous on a leather strap.

the sbga105 is a limited edition, however seiko just came out with another blue dial - sbga127

edit: in a different case (62GS)

U think neighbourhood shop just change into my pyjamas now and go downstairs buy meh?!!? Wah piang wui.. others can tok abt their kids, cars, the food they eat everything under the sun boleh. I tok abit more kena tekan gaogao.. u all sound just like my clients very demanding see ple no up. But its ok. 我是打不死的小鸟.. well trained by my boss for many years just get tekan no tok back if tok back tekan me more.

And yes, cars are cheap. We're just used to thinking that cars are luxury items in Singapore. But in a sprawling place with unsafe and dirty public transportation, it's a necessity.

If wan to buy GS just go boutique see, try and buy if it suits you and your budget.. action speak louder than words

This is really really nice, I like the contrast between the green bezel and black dial. Can call this the James Bond Hulk (007 + Hulk gettit? ). I think I will attempt the same mod in the future if I can find a cheap 007 though I'll likely pair it with a embossed leather strap.



While I was studying in the US many years ago, I bought a huge old Chrysler LFS (size of Mercedes S class) with a friend for US$900 off Craiglist. Even comes with seat warmers! Worked well for 3 months until my friend tried to drive it across the US and the engine caught fire. We just scraped the car on the spot haha.

I also came across a listing for a '87 RX-7 online for US$2300 and almost bought it but didn't in the end as i was afraid of high maintenance for the rotary engine.

Generally, for US$5000, you can get a decent 2nd hand car (like Mazda 6) from a dealership and cheaper if you choose to buy online.

other than NYC, the rest of the people in US owns a car.

The vehicle problem has no easy solution. At least we have a good public transportation system that I don't miss having a car. When seriously need a car, then can still quite easily find a cab.

My personal solution is to replace COEs with island wide ERP. Charge people for usage instead of ownership. And different time of the day, different roads, different charges. But that comes with its own set of difficulties like determining the right fees, build more ERP etc.

Anyway in case people say I go OT, I'll like to start a fun exercise:

Over at wornandwound, they have a series of articles where each editor was asked to recommend 5 watches for a total cost of US$2,000, so a newbie can get a decent collection for decent money. The five categories are: dress, chronograph, sport or diver, quartz or digital, and tool or beater.

I found those articles very interesting as they not only introduce me to new watches, but to new watches that are highly valued for money. I'm sure many bros here also have such watches in mind and I think it'll be good for us to share with everyone else their recommendations.
