what about cortina?
any idea on the AD in europe?

as the pricing across Europe varies, including VAT refund.
therefore which part of Europe are we talking about? France? Italy? UK? Greece? Germany? Swiss?

namely, france, italy and swiss ...

1. do they do direct VAT refund (i.e. no need go through airport to do the mumbo jumbo)

2. emailed JLC directly abt discount, but they told me to contact the AD directly.. so my qn is . dun talk abt VAT refund, do the AD typically offer discount (what's the range) off MRSP?

for swiss, you can forget about discount. Its the [Birthplace] of all swiss made watches. :s13:

for vat refund, depends on whether the shop is able to do it for you on your behalf or you need to do it on your own.
Plus, if a shop is "tax-free" or "VAT-free", there will be a sticker on the main entrance door or a display at the payment counter, sometimes in their own language.

for discounts, the range can be from none to 30%, depending on the model you wanna buy, how much the AD Manager wants to give and also how much the SA is willing to offer you. and also whether that AD is having some sort of "sales" going on...

through emails, answers are rather standard, especially when you are not their regular clients. therefore the amount of discount offered to you is usually bare minimal.

bargain with them when you are in the shop and offer to pay them in full cash.
also, don't be surprised if you don't get any further discounts at the end of the day even if you offered to pay in cash... because ultra rich Chinese people are spoiling the overseas retail market EVERYWHERE.

Anyone interested in H2O Marlin? Have heard great things about this micro brand.
It's still early phase and will probably be out only next year.
I have been wanting to try H2O but currently their watches are too big for me.
Marlin comes with 40mm (and 44mm also) which is my sweet spot.

Hopefully with the crackdown in corruption, they will practice more self restraint.... but I doubt so haha.

what do you guys think of the cartier ballon bleu?

yay or nay?

Design is a yay, but since it's cartier, it will probably be overpriced which will make it a nay... but that's just IMO. If you find that it's worth it, you should get it.

Haven't heard of this micro brands before but then again, I probably haven't heard of most micro brands before lol!

Watches look very unique and refreshing, divers but clearly look different from the standard diver mould. I'm especially impressed with the H2O Orca Dress with Damascus Steel.

The upcoming H2O Hydra is a very very nice looking dress watch and its price is something I can potentially afford, unlike the rest of its range. Definitely a brand to keep my eye on.

OMG, I've been playing with H2O's customization options. It's insane!

Oh ya what happen to 7/Friday owners in this thread? Thinking of hooting P1. hahaha
I don't find 7/Friday design to be nice.

any recommendations for polishing service? good skills at a decent price... no overpolishing, and knows the correct type of buffing to use...
I am keen to know too. Especially don't want them polish the Rolex logo at the buckle

Need some advice from gurus here. I kinda fell in love with the Mont Blanc time walker northern hemisphere earlier this year i think, however I can't seem to find it in Singapore even multiple business trips to Europe I couldn't find it.

I chanced upon this watch on eBay, so I was going some experts can shed some light is this is genuine. Doesn't cost a lot but don't like the feeling that I got scammed haha.

Rolex giving discount? It's as good as asking LV to have sale. But you can try your luck when you're at the boutique.
not through emails.

Rolex do not like their AD to give discounts on rolex watches. Can don't give, that's the best.

JLC you will have better luck in fact. Same thing, try it only when you're in the boutique.
JLC squadra home time or master home time?
Squadra rose gold version is about 10k euro
Master rose gold version is 11k euro

If buy for fun (cuz you got too much $$ to spare), I think it might be ok. Otherwise, don't waste $$.. At that price point, getting a Hamilton will be a better option.

Keep the $$ and you'll be closer to the Rolex by the cost of a 7-Friday...
