Haha yeah I was in the very first watch thread I think. Spent some of the intervening years in the 'watch wilderness', before finally having the passion rekindled

Regarding the watch, it sits surprisingly snug on the wrist; you'd think given the size and shape it might give one the sensation of having a cumbersome load strapped onto the wrist.

And the raised engraving of the Double Hakken...

Imo the watch looks much better in natural lighting especially the gold bezel but maybe that's just me

... I decided to a new one for the new year and my Budget is around $1.5k to $2k +/-. May I know which reputable Brand should I consider within this price range, if possible the model as well and able to view and buy them in local watch shops like City chain or bigger ones. Planning to use it for quite some time

Was wondering if it's possible to grab a nice looking Tag Heuer with my Budget, not looking at 2nd hand ones.

Appreciate any advice! Thanks in advance

我能给的建议是，买表，不必追品牌。最重要的是表盘/品牌底下的芯，是否耐用，耐操，耐修，耐得久。给你有多高的预算，能买多贵的品牌，最终，表盘底下的芯，与一般小品牌用的，或者有等级之分，但是始终还是一样。

我二十年前买那本地组装的SANDOZ，用至今日，依然可入水能游，出水能跳。。。最重要的，机芯依然稳健，从来没找过师傅修，也没洗油。

All the sandoz I see today in bencoolen are either DJ or Day-date
steel, two tone gold or full gold

well Sandoz is actually a swiss watch company but somewhere along the line, the brand name was leased or sold, causing it to split into four sub brand names:
Sandoz Singapore, Sandoz HK, Sndoz Switzerland, Sandoz Spain.

Hi guys, I am hovering over whether to get the Engineer II Genesis from Ball online as my daily beater for office wear. It sells at sgd1,300.

Main reason that attracted me is the online discounted price and night lume.

And the reason why I am holding back is also cos I am looking around if there's better value watches in that price region. How does this set compares to Seiko Jdm presage model like sard009 or sarw011? Or steinhart ovm2? Or should I save up for Tudor black Bay?

I am fine with either sportier or dress watch as my daily office beater. Any recommendation or opinions (good or bad are welcome).

Depends on you. If you want bracelet then maybe others. Steinhart ovm is nice too.
