Depends first or 2nd hand.
You check the card before buying.
Most of the time they provide in house warranty, if the watch is out of warranty. Like my omega 2254.50.

Usually all are sourced overseas with AD chop. So you're good.

Not really related but I suddenly remembered about a friend who bought a BNIB Rolex Sub 114060 grey in Japan and from the warranty, turns out that piece was from an AD in Singapore.

Given that this particular model is well-sought after and AD should have no issues selling in the SG market, cannot quite understand how it ended up in the grey market as BNIB, short of illicit reasons.

Anybody familiar with the grey market got any inputs to share?

Possible. But SG GST is only 7%, so I don't think there's much or any earnings opportunity (unlike Europe) via this approach.

Maybe major out of stocks. So go all around buying since Japan always have market for Rolex and alot of China tourist are going there. Cheaper than come sg

My point is that my friend got the SG grey piece definitely at a better price than whatever SG AD discount can offer. And obviously the grey seller had to make a profit too. What are the chances that the japanese grey seller got such a good discount AND gst off (which is only 7%) to be able to profit from the sale? Perhaps he bought many other pieces from the AD to secure a really high discount overall. Cannot figure the logic as an outsider. Probably need bluebird n jase etc to explain, though could be industry secret.
