 :lick:

superior to the polar explorer II by having:

1. a deeper depth rating (300m vs 100m).
2. a rotatable 24hr hr bezel allowing for a 3rd time zone.
3. handsome presence with its beautiful wave dial and unique design ... perfect for that nautical look. :)

waiting patiently for one at the right price. :D

pls advise whats a reasonable price to pay for this piece

Refusing to comment on this as it would really
show that I'm uncle age... :o

I think lots of Seiko fans are waiting for the reissue

Waffle strap for my vintage mm300, this is on the normal Seiko strap

they should since they re-issued the turtle.

vintage sensibilties is the new hotness, thanks to retro-inspired shows like mad men.

and young turks the likes of benjamin clymer of hodinkee for eg are into vintage.

your stable of vintage beauties (watches lah!) are the sexy! :D

"uncle" means money, stability, taste, experience = things that attract women. ;)

anyway this 50 yr old uncle looks far better than a 25 year old. old is gold, bro.

Hi guys! I have just made an order for my first "Great watch" today. Its an Omega FOIS Speedmaster. I kinda wanna look into changing the strap a bit, therefore was wondering if you guys got any lobang online for great reliable nato or leather strap.

Oh, because I read that the lug width for the speedmaster is 19mm.. will a 20mm fit or do I have to get something shorter?

Good choice. 20mm can but need to squeeze, doesn't look nice. However plenty of options for 19mm straps, ranging from the expensive (e.g. bulang & sons) to the cheaper (too many to list). There are also local places where you can custom-make a 19mm leather strap, check the leather thread for more deets. Lastly, 19mm steel bracelets can also be found on fleabay, ranging from brand new to vintage.

congrats! understand it's a serial numbered limited edition? what's the damage? would've been perfect if they'd use the period accurate 321 calibre.

you try the nato straps at gnomonwatches to see if the 18mm or 20mm is a better fit.

most are going for SGD 3k (+/-)....pretty steep....07 watch

market price gives you an indication. helps you negotiate.

if you like me is crazy about the great white for the reasons i indicated + it's excellent flushed with zero tolerance solid milled clasp when closed, it's a good deal compared to the polar explorer II with its el cheapo stamped metal clasp.

being white, it's not so versatile. i suggest you get the all black 2254.50 seamaster professional chronometer first if you haven't already. this out of production model has already established cult/classic status.

Etsy has quite a few strapmakers willing to customise as well

Interesting, your post history indicates almost all of your posts are asking for information, opinion, reviews etc... but no contribution or sharing

my advice, share more & you will find that more people are willing to answer your queries.

so my non-response tonight
