Definitely not that expensive. got mine at bout $1500 in Japan BiC Camera.

I saw the MM series there, only problem is Wako boutique sells at list/RRP price with no discount.
but the range of seiko avail is the most i have seen in Tokyo shops.

can try yodabash/bic camera, but they carry only the common GS/MM, with std discounts

If not, there are reputable grey dealers at Nakano station (jackroad/Kamekichi etc) clustered around there, they carry new/used/vintage pieces

Standard issue GS or seiko Yodobashi is cheaper by 1-2k yen.
8% tax free+ 5% off visa
Prices are already cheaper than retail.

Vintage. Very hard unless you know where to dig.
If not Standard issue is pretty easy to find.

Vintage rolex can be found but the prices are pretty steep.
Found this during my trip there. Not vintage but definitely a discon classic from omega for less than 2k.

Hi gaoxing84, hence you would recommend me heading to yodobashi if I'm not looking out for limited ed mms and grand seikos? Thanks

This at less than 2k is actually a very good price.
