Buy and wear what you like, be it fake or genuine. As long as you happy can already. Most people cannot spot a fake so easily, unless they ask you to take it off and inspect it closely.
I know of people earning millions a year, but still from head to toe wearing fake stuffs and no one dare to dispute with them.

I think people here get most pissed off at those who haolian their fake watches and try to pass them off as real.

My OC at reservist often wear fake watches to camp but he doesn't pass them off as real. Straight up tell us is fake and where he buys from etc.

Lol I just wore this on my night run last night! This has unfortunately been relegated to my exercise and reservist watch.

I own a sub 116610LN and AP diver.

Sometimes i ride bike to work, due to the crazy traffic in CBD.
Sometimes I drive my wife's car to work.
Sometimes if its raining i take MRT back home from raffles to TPY (less than 15mins), take cab also jam, drive car also jam, ride bike dangerous.

Doesn't matter how people judge me when I am wearing my AP in the MRT, end of the day i own self song can liao. :s13:

I have colleagues who owns real AP, they also buy fake AP to wear for fun (i.e too expensive models) and we'll all just admire the workmanship and move on.

I always tell my wife, you buy a Japanese Car for 120k SGD, people will say might as well go for conti (CLA / A Class) 160k, I say those are the real rich people. One year depreciation chao chao 15k on car alone. Effectively 1 year throw away 1 rolex into the sea. But they are happy to wear a seiko digital watch. Its how you decide to spend your money. YOLO

also, check with you adjust the time... when you turn clockwise, does the minute hand turn clockwise?

Most of these fakes are using them ETA movements. The gen 3135 movement has a different H4 cannon pinion, and a different gear rotation. Then again, I've personally came across a 3135 clone which behaves the same, BUT BUT BUT cosmetically different under the loupe. :D

So in summary, if you turn your crown CW, time moves CW, it's 1000001% a fakey

I confuse late here
Adjust time turning crown Cw the minute hand don't go Cw go anti CW?

Yattokame does that. He takes bus and MRT wearing the Patek 5712. :s8:

My wifey and I takes MRT to work and Taxis on weekend. We decided that buying watches and taking 3-5 holiday trips per year is better off than having something that loses value every year. Its also different that we rather get a place that doesnt need a car to get everywhere, and we have no kids. So to each their own.

I have more respect for humble successful people like Bro Yatto then people who eat bread to pay expensive car loans and illegal park to skim on parking.

And oh, unless one buys a car without the need for a loan, if not, you are just doing long term car rental, not a car owner.

Just my useless 2 cents.......

Agree. Got car doesn't mean don't take public transport. Got nice watch doesn't mean don't take public transport.

Who is this siaolang from prison???

Don't miss out the fact that he has a Merc S Class parked at home when he takes public transport.

actually, it ain't so much of the Rolex pieces that bugs me. I mean, Rolex, they are relatively cheaper.

WHAT I CAN'T F******* STAND THOUGH, ARE THE YOUNG 20 YEAR OLD SOMETHING PUNKS WITH THEIR SIDES SHAVED (WHAT KINDA HAIRSTYLE KIDS HAVE THESE DAYS, PATUI) AND THEIR AP ROYAL OAK OFFSHORES TAKING THE MRT SWEATING ON THEIR BALLS WITH ME. I MEAN, WHO THE F BUYS A 40K WATCH TO TAKE THE MRT???!?!?!

I can post a guide to look for fake AP ROO. The easiest tell is the case thickness. catches 90% of the fakeys. date wheel and subdial placements are **** too. But look for the case thickness. same applies for Daytonas too.

I've been a lurker in watchuseek, rwg, rwi, chrono24 for years and learning from the various WISs who also sometime makes bad wrong call on genuine watches by saying they are fakes. Seen (many) hell(s) breaks loose when customs/police threats are made in various forums.

And I knew this watch thread in EDMW is a time bomb waiting to explode when gen meets fakes:s13:

Everyone can wear what they want, this is their choice and freewill. I've seen rich people wearing obvious fakes, and so-call 'poor people on trains' wearing genuine Rolex GMT masters (I presume with CHS, sine the CHS reps are just 50-50% waiting to spoil anytime).

One needs to weigh the Pros/cons of wearing a gen and pros/cons of wearing a rep before joining the 'light' or 'dark' side.

I believe its the wearer that brings the class out of the watch and not the other way round:)

There are also handful of fakes in this thread pictures as well as many awesome gens..

IMO, the mods for this thread needs to be of some standard in the watch industry in order to exercise their ban hammer with precision :p:p:p

Back to lurking mode. Just my 2-cents worth.

Happy flaming and trolling each other just like many watch forums :)

Guys,

Let's please ignore the irrelevant postings. We never come here and debate on genuine or replicas. Simply because, it is the faith and understanding that all of us will post as what the thread says "watches", not "replica/counterfeit watches".

As said before, I don't speak for anyone else but that is just simple forum decorum. No one is judged wearing replicas, we enthusiasts just appreciate that it is not shared here. Is this too difficult to understand?

We are not watch snobs solely focused on luxury watches, we share any watch that doesn't fall under the"replica/counterfeit watches" category. We are all watch enthusiasts, we share our collections and thoughts. The prices of these watches are hardly topics we discuss - because that is not the focus of importance, but showing or discussing a replica is going against the nature of this thread.

For 9 best parts, we have never had this issue (no reason to go DEFCON 5 - as contributors to this thread, we can do our part to facilitate smooth continuity without mentioning replica/counterfeit watches). Let's continue our good trend and more importantly, get back to the essence of this thread.
