I don't know. Maybe its just me whom see it as minimalist.
And for the dual colours. I think Steinhart trying to make the same colour as the lumi on OT500
Don't worry. everyone sees things differently.
imo I would not really call OT500 a minimalist because its a diver's watch.
but kudos to Steinhart for making a diver's watch which stands out from the rest after taking references from some popular divers watches like:
Pelagos
Seiko skx series
Oris
In fact, the first thing which made me notice OT500 is the ocean blue seconds hand. because most diver watches will go for safe colours ie white.
The 2nd thing is the use of broad-sword hands for the hour and minute hands. Most diver watches we see in the market will have hands with narrow-pointed tips.
3rd...a slightly domed crystal, not common for divers
Unlike Parnis, it has none on their homage. But I find it to plain. But no doubt. Its a good watch
I won't even wanna compare Steinhart with Parnis, due to a few reasons.

1) unlike Steinhart, Parnis is NOT a proper watch brand company.
Parnis is not a brand; it's a class of watches, mainly made in the Guangzhou area of China, where there's a nest of different factories with the wherewithal to make almost any watch you care to imagine, simply by assembling freely available parts.
that is why its SO dirt cheap
2) the Parnis watches are manufactured at the lowest cost possible. Please don't expect too much from a sub USD100 watch
3) after sales service.

4) Quality. ermmm.... nuff said
5) if you decide to play in the Parnis waters, then it's indeed "buyer beware".
