Is the rom and the gapps stable? Do we need to wipe data before flashing? How do we go about installing gapps? Does the rom receive ota updates?

So far quite stable for me after almost 1 week.

Gapps is included in the rom. Note that you have to use the multi-language rom, not the one from the official download link as that's in Chinese with no gapps.

install firefox android, then install the adblock plus add-in

no root needed

Nobody has problem with assigning a contact a specific ringtone and that ringtone became whatsapp's notification tone for the same contact as well? Is it just my phone...?

WCDMA version of redmi note; codename 2013121
TD-SCDMA version of redmi note; codename 2013122

in anycase, suppliers will not bring in TD-SCDMA phones for IDA approval, as only these phones will only be able to use 2G in singapore

Please don't use the e-ideas APN. I changed to "internet" and it goes from speed 30kb/s to 700kb/s.

I ordered the mi3 arriving to me probably Monday today ... But I'm in doubt if this phone is worth it after seeing the zenfon 5 thread ... It's ard $115 cheaper after considering to factor in a 32gb sd card for the zenfon5

U think got buyer to take over my purchase at the same px as what I paid? Or I shld take the mi3 over the zenfon5?

If you choose Zenfone, I rather you take Redmi, can save even more.

Do note other than hardware/specs, MIUI software is better than Zenfone.

Since you mentioned you know advantages, maybe mention disadvantages of both

Mi3
doesn't have dual-SIM
Camera doesn't have the interesting time rewind and pixelmaster mode

Zenfone
doesn't have backlight for home, back, menu keys
CPU is low/mid class, not snapdragon 800 class
8GB internal storage, about 4GB available. Note that apps cannot be installed on sd card, unless you root the phone
