Yup! That's how I got the 15% discount... I think I'll just give the US shipping over idea a pass.. With all the small fees it prob adds up around the same amount.. BTW if I opt for no 2242 ssd in the Lenovo can I add my own SSD 2242 from taobao? It's frigging cheap there.

Hi guys I decided to just ditch the idea of adding parts myself as the price difference isn't that big of a difference, and just opt for the 512gb PCIE ssd from Lenovo directly. To keep costs down I'll just remove the Nvidia MX150 as I think its probably not needed in Uni either... OR should I just bomb the extra $130 for the MX150?:(:(:(

Get the one with onboard graphics. Whatever modern games you would be able to (*barely*) play at smooth framerates on the MX150 would become meh after the first year.

Save the money to get a proper gaming desktop and invest money in a light laptop that lasts long for outside-of-home use.

The thinkpad sold now is not like the ThinkPad sold 5 years ago.

The last original ThinkPad is the T/X/W/L430 series.

Better get additional warranty when the 1 cent promo at Lenovo SG Education Website.

Now most company using Dell Latitude instead of ThinkPad.
Dell business support especially Dell Pro Support is really next business day get the service done onsite.

Lenovo Thinkpad not as good as last time liao.

I doubt it work that way for thinkpad international warranty.
So long the same model is being sold in US and Sin, the international warranty is in effect.

Not by default. Esp if you go through online. You need to explicitly select as an option. For the Thinkpad P71, and a 5 year onsite warranty, the international warranty is an extra $400...

If you call by phone, best to always double confirm. Don't wait for the freaking sales agreement then start to kpkb and cry over split milk.

Thing is, Lenovo is super niao about warranty. Other big players also pull the same trick. Unless you produce a receipt that you bought the Thinkpad on the condition, and I use it in a legal sense, that you selected international warranty at the time of purchase, Lenovo will dig out 1001 reasons to not honour your warranty, if it can.
