is selling quite exp in sg.

but i just back from KL yesterday. i saw nioxin selling at RM$120 for 1L although the price tag is at RM$179. ask for their lowest price. so i bought 1 back .. hee .. is a gd catch for those using nioxin. but is all the way to KL la.

they told me the price for nioxin is going up now .. RM$120 is their old price. so i guess the new shipment will be ard RM$179 in the future.

try buying from here.

I just bought a 1litre System 4 Nioxin shampoo from Swanston in Chinatown a few days back (May 2008). It cost $59.90. I saw the System 2's 1 litre shampoo selling for $60++.

For those who still don't know whats Nioxin:

Swanston is located at People's Park Complex 1st floor. Get off at the Chinatown MRT station, exit at the OG side. Once you come out of the exit (i.e. out to the open air at ground level), don't go into the People's Park Complex building. Just continue to walk straight towards the underneath of the OG bridge and you should see Swanston along the way. The Swanston store faces the main road and has a light blue sign board. The Nioxin products are located inside the shop, near to the cashier counter.

I think its very well worth it to buy from Swanston in Singapore cos you don't have to wait or bother about the air shipment from overseas and if you add in the shipping cost, it would be the same.

Remember to get the Nioxin scalp therapy treatment too. It helps alot!

I started hair treatment as early as 12yo. It all started when my mum tried to get my grey n white hair darken. She tried many remedy but mainy chinese traditional medicine like He Shou Wu.
Treatment lasted till i was in my mid 20s when i started experience hairfall. I started taking all sorts of medicine for hairfall. They didn work well. Hairtonic didn work as well. I changed my shampoo to those meant for people with hairfall problem.
I only managed to get it under control till i tried taking Propecia for half a year. It cost ard 90+ a box then. I also used growell 5%. Now i'm using a Shampoo with Chinese Herbs (can be bought at NTUC).
Everything is under control now but from time to tme i also experience increasing hairfalling. I believe this has something to do with stress. I notice when i'm stressed with work, more hair falls off. If i dun have enough rest, more hair fall off. So beside tese treatment, i urge u to rest enough and relax whenever u can.
wow!!! look like you have tried tons of treatment too in this 20years or so?

for me only about 8years of treatment i have tried thing like hair tonic, vinegar, hot chilli, different type of oils, shampoos, herbs, laser, finasteride, Avodart, flutamide, Spironolactone, minoxidil, lithium orotate, tretinoin, ketoconazole, zinc sulfate, dimethyl sulfoxide, hydrocortisone etc etc etc... too many for me to remember also. haha...

if only i have someone to advice me when i begin, maybe i can save more hair and certainly alot of money.

but it certainly a long journey with alot of up and down emotionally...

Wonder if anyone knows where to get Fabao101 also called Zhang Guang 101 (章光101) products in Singapore?

Appearantly it is a both very highly and poorly rated hair tonic considered by some to be miracle and some to be scam...

Quoted from the website: http://www.zhang-guang.com/
Beijing ZhangGuang 101 Group Corporation is world's leading manufacturers of natural herbal hair loss and skin care products. The company's hair loss products are sold in more than 150 countries and territories under well-recognized brand name: Zhang-Guang 101® formulas with an overall success rate >85%. The original hair loss formula "ZhangGuang 101® " were first launched in 1978 and received 8 international awards. The great success of the original hair loss formula leads to the continuously improved hair loss products of Zhang-Guang 101.

By the way, this hair tonic is from the founder of Beijing101.

Hi Isopropyl

Before I used Minoxi 5%, my hair loss is not so serious, maybe 20-30 hairs per day. But since I started Minoxi 5%, the shed started in the 3rd week and it's a real nightmare. Some days, close to 150 hairs and till today, still dropping a bit, but my hair is now thin as fxxx.

I now look like a Norwood 3 - 4 on the norwood scale, feel sad and stressed that my hair will not grow back. Anyway, can you give some advice how to control the oiliness as this is also a side effect I experienced after the Minoxi 5%.

Will finasteride help control the oiliness?

I read mixed results from various forums. I guess just like any other scientific hair tonics, it is helpful to certain people (see toberlone's post above on Minoxi 5% which is supposedly a scientific hair tonic).

Just started using it. Will report back if its really scam in 3 mths time.

Hi marcuz1977

From Dec 2007 to April 2008, I was at BJ101. For what it's worth, it did help me increase density in my hair, but there is still no control of hair loss.

That's why I went back to using minoxidil, but little did i know it would turn out to be a nightmare. Now come to think of it, do not know if it's the reaction between the minoxi and BJ101 tonic that caused the shedding.

Firstly, BJ101 salon treatments are aimed at reducing scalp oiliness, and then secondly their tonic is supposed to grow hair. I guess it did help in controlling the oiliness, but their tonic made my scalp very sensitive and itchy. So you go for treatment to treat oiiness, but then the tonic sort of reverses it by causing scalp itchiness again.

That's why I switched to minoxi 5%......haiz.....

i suggest you stop using minoxidil totally and get on Piroctone Olamine shampoo like sebamed anti dradruff or bodyshop ginger shampoo.

in one study, piroctone olamine(PTO) show ability to reduce sebamed output. also, it have anti-inflammation properties.

if scalp itch and dryness is a problem, i find that extra virgin olive oil help. just leave it on for a couple of hours then wash off. many also report apple cinder vinegar is helpful. for next few week, try not to apply any other thing on your scalp for recovery.

try to stay calm and relax. your hair should be able to recover. i know the pain you going through now as i been through it many time. since treating hairloss is as much dealing with emotional problem as with treatment, it is important to learn how to handle emotional roller coaster. not easy but able to manage your stress and worry is part of the big picture.

again, don't worry, you should be able to recover. just focus on treating your scalp now.

as far as i know, there are mix report on finasteride user on sebum output. but generally, it should not affect too much in this department. but if possible, i strongly suggest you get on it. it your first line of defence as well as one of the best(sad to say that).

good luck.

Hi Isopropyl

Thanks for the encouragement. I will be going back to see the hair specialist tomorrow, at the same time, to see if I'm suitable to take propecia. Had a blood test done for that.

Actually, my left temple has receded quite a fair bit, and my frontal part is also very thin that I can see the scalp under bright light. Worried that propecia may not be able to help in those areas. Judging from my present hair loss intensity, it could be a matter of months that i'll go bald in front.

Do you think if it'll make a difference if i take propecia or not? I deeply regret that i wasted half a year on those snake oils, should have started propecia last year, may have helped to save some temple and frontal hair loss......... in your opnion, did it help you maintain your frontal hair?

Anybody know where to find hair fiber concealers in Singapore? I have been to many guardian branches and I am arrived to a conclusion the pharmacy chain may have stop selling this product:(

I need it quite urgently. If order from Overseas will need to take 2 weeks.

Does Swanson in Chinatown sell such concealer?

ya agreed. remember it takes years for the hairloss to occur and noticeable. don't expect a miraclous hair growth overnight, just be patient and hopeful while on treatment. :)

Hey can u guys elaborate wat exactly are hair fiber concealers?

I search it online, "sprinkled onto thinning hair and bald spots to instantly increase the thickness and density of each hair", "micro-fibers are 100% external products, there are no side effects". But i'm still getting vague impression.

I would like to know wat form it is, like liquid or gel or spray. Also how often we have to apply it and how much it cost.

Thanks for sharing.:)

Hi Just wondering if any one here been to this web page http://www.qdbd.com/hair_loss_treatment_minmuck.htm.
It suggest adding saw palmetto and beta sitosterol to minoxidil.Anyone tried that before?Dun know whether if its safe to do that.I am also trying to use Revivogen anyone use that beforePlease advice. Thanks
using minomuck now. for about 2months once per day. unable to use it consistently so far but trying to.

it safe to mix it this way. infact for those with finasteride pills left over, you can try dumping some into your minoxidil. it might work topically although the result data is a mix.

Anyone saw yesterday (27/05/08) 9 pm News on channel U ?
There is an article about a new hairloss product which benefit MPB.
Some kind of herb lotion which have to apply on the thinning or hairloss area & it works.
Must not stop using it or else hairloss will back to normal.
It's kind of like propecia but in lotion form.
And the best part is NO SIDE EFFECT.:s12::s12:
I think the breakthrought is very near.:)
