Thinning Hair problem

I had a very bad experience with the New Station Beauty & Hair at the Bendemeer branch recently. It is located at the Exit B of Boon Keng MRT station. Initially, my husband signed up for the $10 promotion haircut package, which entitled not only him but my family for $2 and $3 haircut during weekdays and weekend respectively for a year.

I went for a normal haircut one day but was being hard sell by the hair stylist into signing up for hair loss treatment package for 4 with 1 time free at $236. I have some minor hair loss problem but still under control. In fact, I was being brain washed by these unscrupulous people into thinking that if not treated early now, I would go into complete baldness soon. This is called the scare tactics. Next, one Malaysian even jeered at me that I looked like young lady in front but auntie at the back due to the slight baldness. That is called the jeer tactics.

I insisted to try one time hair loss treatment at $59 first to test out the effectiveness. The Malaysian and PRC hair stylists kept on insisting to try out the package rather than giving the 1 time trial. In the end, I had to make the payment in order to leave the place in peace or in a piece.

That one time hair loss treatment proved to be disastrous. My hair became more oily than before and probably not suitable at all. I went to the branch again on a Sunday to ask for a refund on the remaining items at $177 due to poor result. One of the female Malaysian hair-stylists tried to buy time by insisting that the administrative office is closed on Sunday and promised that the admin girl would call me on Monday morning 10am. This is called the buying time tactic. Never received any call what so ever the next day and off I went during lunch time to ask for an explanation. I was greeted rudely and being accused of creating a scene at that branch. In the end, that female Malaysian hair-stylist called up the police and I had to retreat from that **** hole.

Quite a drama but it really happened

Hi all,
I'm 26 this yr and I have m-pattern balding(not sure if this is the correct term). It's made worse as I have a natural high hairline. I actually shave botak for a few yrs liao but many ppl have commented I look fierce and unapproachable.

Any recommendations for products and.treatment? Thinking of growing back my hair, hope it helps in my work...

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone knows if I will be able to import in Rogaine Foam? Will there be any issue at the custom?

Hi, new to this thread. My problem is oily scalp and hair loss. I currently using Natur Vital and no clear results. So, looking into thread here what can I get to improve my condition ? Haven't seen any doctor and of course not those like Beijing 101 or Yun Nam.

Reading into Propecia and Minoxidill. Which shampoo in local has these 2 items in it or should I import them from overseas ?

For propecia, my GP prescribe it to me. Muz take continously for a period of time b4 the effects are visible. Also using the Growell 5%. Same prob as u, oily scalp and hair loss.

I am thinking, since taking propecia will lower DHT lvl, will it also lower testosterone ? Am also trying to bulk.

One of the many side effects of propecia, a.k.a finasteride is impotence.
Extracted from wiki :
Side effects of finasteride include impotence (1.1% to 18.5%), abnormal ejaculation (7.2%), decreased ejaculatory volume (0.9% to 2.8%), abnormal sexual function (2.5%), gynecomastia (2.2%), erectile dysfunction (1.3%), ejaculation disorder (1.2%) and testicular pain. According to the product package insert, resolution occurred in men who discontinued therapy with finasteride due to these side effects and in most men who continued therapy. The PPI also states that patients have reported persisting erectile dysfunction despite discontinuing the drug. In December 2010, Merck added depression as a side effect of finasteride.

Abt $10k. ;)

Same prob as u, oily scalp and hair loss.

You might want to try Rene Furterer Curbicia Lightness Regulating Shampoo or Clay Shampoo, available in most pharmacies. Very effective in curbing oiliness. But save your bucks on other hair loss shampoos and tonic the sales people may psycho you to buy.

Is it ok to mix regaine and growell products?

I'm currently using a Minoxidill 5% spray by growell but it will soon finish. I'm thinking of buying Regaine foam to use next. Considering the ingredient is the same they shouldn't be any problem?

FYI to those that don't know: Growell and Regaine are just brand names.

No problem. Tried and tested ;)

How old are you? Just wondering why more do not opt for hair transplant other than it being more expensive but being an one-off expense.

How's your hair now? Which place did you do it at?

Am 40.

Costs aside, hair transplant was not an option when I was younger because my 2 of my relatives had really unnatural results and it was not difficult spotting long scars on their scalp. Re-doing the hair transplant to fix that was not an option. So, hair transplant appeared to be something risky to me then.

Do not stop the meds, unless you do not mind the hair loss. You can minimise (hair will drop, but not drastic). But when you stop, you will be devastated at the rate hair will begin to fall. It will take some time to put back those hair with the meds again.
