it normal. don't worry. it not the amount of hair you drop each day.

what you should be worry about is hair is getting thin and lighter in colour if it grow back.

i have been using made-in-israels minoxi5 for about 6 months now.. but since 1 month ago my scalpe developes this itch everytime i apply the minoxi5.. dunno why for 5 months no problem but now the itch is unbearable and consistent.. maybe now the scalpe becoming sensitive to it liao..

didnt have that problem when i used growell 1yr ago.. but growell is so expensive

would you recommend rogaine? is there a formula difference between rogaine regular and the foam type?

i am having the same problem as you when i use rogaine years ago. in the beginning it is fine. after about a few weeks, thing started to get real bad. normally this is cause by PPG in the formula.

the word is that rogaine foam might work better then the solution. the actual study is not out yet so i can't confirm. will post the study once it is out.

minoxidil do very little for most people alone unless you are a good responder. you need to couple it with other treatment.

Hi, louisliao, just like to check with you how you find minoxi5 so far??? I also been using this brand for about 10+ months but i can't really see significant improvement to my thinning hair. maybe i am not be a good responder to this brand...hmmm. actually i try out growell 5% for 2 month initially but lata opt for minoxi5 as is slightly cheaper and contain more solution. But i felt that growell5% seem to perform better than minoxi5..maybe try to use back again. Also what brand of shampoo are you using now???

i didn't use Biolyn shampoo before. i just use any shampoo my mum got with nizoral 1% inbetween.

anyway, just got my rogaine foam today. tested it right away.

i took out the cap and spray the foam into the cap. a bit hard to control the amount coming out but i felt it should not be a problem after some practice. a single application should fill around half the cap but i end up filling it to 3/4 full.

to my surprise, the foam start to melt as soon as it is out. most likely due to our warm weather condition. so i end up using a dropper to apply.

it dry quite fast once it is on the scalp and does have a strong perfume smell which i don't really like. but the scalp does felt great with this stuff. better than Dr. Lee PPG free minoxidil.

overall, i find that it is a great product which does not cost too much compare to other minoxidil found in singapore.

worth a try.

For me, fast results, Jab steroids - $50. I went CLINIC, jabbed steroids on the baldness... hair regrow in less than 3wks. Of coz with medictations n minoxi5. Works for me... recover liao... Recommended my friend, works for him too. Was told can Jab steroids weekly for faster results... some just need to go 3 times some more...

corticosteroid will help with growing hair. the reason it is not use by many is because of it side effect of causing skin thinning which eventually will damage your scalp ability to grow anymore hair. especially if you are using strong corticosteroid which i assume you are, your scalp could be destory in a matter of weeks to months. not to mention you are injecting it.

except weak corticosteroid like 1% hydrocortisone cream, i won't recommend anyone using it for hairloss.

here are a list of possible side effect of strong corticosteroid.

digestion problems e.g. indigestion,
increased risk of infection,
muscle weakness,
water retention (oedema),
weight gain,
high blood pressure,
increased appetite,
skin becomes thinner and bruises easily,
stretch marks,
bruises, cuts, scratches and insect bites take a long time to heal,
excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)
diabetics may need higher dosage of insulin,
irregular menstrual cycle,
thinning of the skin,
joint pain,
softening of the bones (osteoporosis),
mood swings, such as depression or euphoria,
changes in the eye, such as cataract and glaucoma, or
slow growth in children.

anyway, i find it strange that your doctor allow you to have corticosteroid injection just for hair grow. i read quite a number of patient is being rejected by their doctor for this purpose. didn't he mention to you the possible side effect? also what type of regrow did you experience?

i have a tude of Betamethasone dipropionate cream which i don't even dare to use for hair grow.

there are only one shampoo proven to reduce oily scalp. Nizoral 1% or 2%. the rest of the shampoo will not do anything.

in theory and ingredient, there is no different. all should work equally well. get well know generic brand like kirkland for it price.

brand name is much more expensive as it goes through FDA trial. after the patent expire, other company create generic version which sell much cheaper. Kirkland is make from the same company as rogaine.

go get a prescription from your doctor and go CGH to buy. you can get it at $30plus for minoxi5 last time. but i don't know the price now.

the next big thing is rogaine foam. if you order online as i did, it cost less than 27buck for one month supply.

there are alot of spectaculation that the foam work much better than the solution version from the result posted online.

worth the try. not to mention that it is not greasy like the solution version so you can use it before going out.

i got the 2% version at malaysia for about $11.85 SGD. in singapore it cost around $21 SGD.

so if you are free to go down, you can get it from malaysia.

anyway, for those that is interested, Avodart cost around $86 SGD in malaysia for a box of 30pills.
