btw any minoxil user here??

After spraying onto my hair, do i massage into the scalp only or do i run through the hair as well??

And can i apply hair styling product after that??

pls help cos this is the first time i using this product... kinda of clueless

u can gently massage on the scalp. if u let it run through, it might touch on unwanted area e.g ur face

maybe u shdn't apply hair styling product, @ least for the time being

actually i haven't been using any hairproduct for the past 1 month... used to use alot of wax, clay etc.

now, jus put on a cap when i go out or simply leave it abit messy.

it's kinda of depressing... i'm alredy short & diminutive in physique compared to my peers. tod the least "heaven" could do was to grant me nice hair so i've somethk to make up for my lack of physique. But now this.....

basically what has been covered here ... there are only 2 scientifically proven ways for MPB:

1) Minoxidil (topical hair spray)
2) Propecia (oral tablets)

i told him isn't it sad that i'll have be on drug for many yrs given that i'm relatively young... he was quite nice & told me jus hang on there & there may be new cure in future

Anyway not tryin to be self-delusionary, but this is not impossible rite. i'm 24 now, say i hang on for 10 yrs, by then hopefully there's some improved technology .
otherwise i jus shave off like davin gan...

minoxidil does not stop hairloss. it just offset it. it like growing hair faster than you are losing it therefore it "prevent" hairloss in a way. you need something like finasteride to slow down or stop your hairloss. propecia hold it on the ground and minoxidil punch it in it face.

whether do you need to massage in after using minoxidil depend on the way you apply. if you are using the spray, alot of solution might be spray on a smaller area, so you need to help the solution to spread evenly by so call massaging it. i am using the dropper. i dab the dropper all over my scalp so there no need to spread it anymore. other than helping the solution to spread evenly, there is no other benefit of massging your scalp. and you can apply stlying product without problem. just give it sometime to settle down.

you can cut down your cost by using proscar. proscar and propecia is actually the same thing. just 5mg VS 1mg of the active ingredient finasteride. or get some generic finasteride which i use before. it does not cost much.

BTW, you need to use minoxidil for life too if it grow hair for you.

both warm and cold water is fine. just not too extreme on either end should not make any noticeable different except your personal liking. Beijing101 and yum num will not help you if yours is male pattern hairloss. other condition might be useful. get on finasteride and minoxidil will actually does more and cost way lesser.

anyway, there are some interesting treatment been tested out. most likely we will have something close to the cure in 5-10years time. not too bad for a 30years plus guy to have full head of hair. one of the promising treatment is hair multiplying. it just like hair transplant but with unlimited hair for you to transplant.

Minoxil does not treat the problem. If you are suffering from MPB, you should take Propecia. It slow down your hair loss, by controlling the DHT.

yes. i not sure about what most people are using. both i totally sure that using both together give you the best chance of saving and regrowing your hair.

Nizoral have been "proven" to have an effect on hairloss. there are a couple of theory why it work. personally i don't believe it does much on it own. but a shampoo that keep your scalp healthy is important so i believe it have it place in any hairloss treatment. it one of the two shampoo that i think it actually helpful.

the different between propecia and minoxidil.

propecia bind with type II 5-alpha reductase which will convert testosterone to dihydrotestosterone(DHT in short) DHT is the product that tigger a chain of reaction that cause hairloss.

minoxidil is a hair grow stimulator. it original usage is treating high blood pressure by taking it orally. no one actually know how it work but some believe minoxidil is an nitric oxide provider. nitric oxide is an important messenger molecule. also, it open "K-channels" which is important for regulating a variety of cellular processes.

It's been nearly a week since i'm using minoxidil and i'm alredy beginning to feel it's a hassle..

Every morning i gotta wash my hair, apply the mino, wait for it to dry & finally put on abit of hair styling wax... the whole process takes almost an hour (my hair becomes dry & tangled after applyin minoxil & take some time to settle down)

and if i've to use do it twice a day, feel i'm wasting alot of my life on my silly hair prob...

try Rogaine Foam instead, solves your problem about it taking too long to dry : )

as already mention, try minoxidil foam instead. dry in a couple of mins.

well, i just got to say if you don't waste this amount of time, you might feel upset every min of your time being awake.

if you can have peace with yourself of being bald, that good for you too.

i have already drop alpecin. like not doing much for me. so no point wasting the money. but still, it might be something worth using. i just don't know. but from response elsewhere, it doesn't seem to do much.

u posted the number of its distributor earlier rite... i'll be giving them a call i think

either 4 or 5part is fine and make very little different. a study in japan have show that 0.2mg per day work almost as well as 1mg per day. so if finasteride work for you, i bet take a smaller dose is just fine. so cutting it into 5part might give you slightly less than 1mg per day which is just fine. during my proscar days, i cut mine into 4parts for the ease of it.

isopropyl, i read that avodart(dutasteride) is more effective than proscar(finasteride) as it inhibits both type I & type II 5 alpha reductase whereas Propecia or Proscar is only effective against type II 5AR.

iirc, u r using this right? can u kindly provide more info on this avodart product, such as
- where can we buy this avodart in singapore/jb without buying thru the internet?
- how much does it cost for 1 month supply?
- are the side effects same as finasteride?
