anyone using rechargable batteries for your digital lock ?
the merchant/ installer told my mom the panasonic eneloop (normal) is not suitable for my samsung 609 =/
have been using Eneloops in a Gateman for years, no issues at all. I think the manufacturer/merchant warning against using rechargeable batteries is because regular NiMH rechargeable batteries have a high self discharge rate, and this may result in low battery after only a month or two. This will definitely lead to a poor user experience, hence they recommend using alkaline batteries. Eneloop or other low self discharge NiMH batteries will last a long time, I pre-emptively change my batteries every 6 months or so, and have never run into a low battery situation.

Been using the KeyWe Damian for almost a month now for my HDB metal gate, the fingerprint reader is way better than the Yale YDR50G i had.
The Wifi works well and i get notifications for every door open!

Topped up $80 for full 5-year warranty. very worth it deal.

And not to mention it comes with all the features:

1. Bluetooth
2. Wifi - Remote lock and unlock
3. PIN
4. One-Time PIN
5. NFC
6. Fingerprint for both inside and outside facing modules!
7. Mechanical override key
8. Remote control fob
9. Z-Wave (EU) integration

7 ways to unlock!

Only con is the build quality is not as good as Yale, the Yale YDR50G weights like almost twice of the Keywe if i hold it in my hands.
But it's still safe enough, i mean, it's HDB.. how many times does one actually get burglared by smashing the gate lock?

I still have my wooden door with Samsung Lock anyway..

Got it from Qoo10 at Keywe Damian Smart Gate Digital Lock + FREE WIFI HUB + REMOTE
Add $30 voucher from Qoo10 sales page: https://qoo.tn/B3s5jX/Q101761040
i have this. do note that if yours is the older batch, the motherboard seems to have issue that leads to battery low quite fast (e.g. mine need to change batteries less than 2 months). Monitor yours and if same issue can get them to replace the motherboard (should be v1.1.1, not v1.1 and is 2021 batch). Now i'm monitoring if it has fixed the issue.

I have it for about 3 weeks now.. the battery is showing 80%.. Is that normal?

NiMH rechargeables like eneloop/eneloop pro etc nominally operate at 1.2 V per cell, Usual AA will run at standard nominal voltage of 1.5V. Unfortunately some digital locks are a little sensitive to that difference and you may experience "low batt" alarms sounding off earlier than you would with non rechargeable AA Energizers and Duracells.

I know mine does. Old Samsung push pull + eneloop pro.

I have not seen any major manufacturers selling Lipo AA 1.5V rechargeable batts. Not about to pull trigger on unbranded MIC ones and shipping may be an issue. If got let me know 🙂

Using Legate digital locks.

A few months back, I am looking for a metal gate vendor and digital lock for my wooden door so that I no longer need to carry keys as they are heavy. With these locks, we have a choice to use a lightweight key tag or fingerprint or just a passcode. So I searched the internet to see the companies offering these in the market and the price range.

I come across different companies that offer the gate and digital gate lock as a bundle and compare them. With the pricing, branded locks are much more pricey, but I am looking for a reasonable price and good quality.

Legate was one of the companies that came up during my internet search. Upon checking, their price for the metal gate and the digital gate lock is affordable, and they also have a digital lock for the wooden door. I was skeptical at first, so I did more research about Legate. I have found out that they have a wide range of products from metal gates, invisible grille, outdoor blinds, and smart home products. With these, I thought to give them a try.

So I called Legate and inquired about the metal gate, gate lock, and wooden door lock. I was informed that they would schedule someone to do an onsite measurement and check the digital lock's main door.

To fast forward, overall, the installation was fast and professional. After using it for a few months, I find both the main door lock and gate locks very reliable as I didn't encounter any issues. It also allows remote unlock, which I usually use for my part-time cleaner.
Sharing this smart gate lock video link for everyone's reference.

i recently went hddoor at woodlands and the person tell me they stop selling igloohome products cause got many issues with their locks - does anyone know how much truth there is to this?

their rim lock for gate is very sleek and their new push pull lock looks quite good also, was thinking of getting but now not sure

I've thought of that too, but until the reputable batt makers like Panasonic, Sony, GP, etc makes rechargeable AA lithium batts. i'm staying away from them..

exploding bikes and handphones already bad enough, i don't need exploding doors also..

Not easy. U got to dismantle it to see the motherboard. But u just monitor your battery life for now. If delete within 2-3months den flag it out.

just installed yale 50ga + 7220, can sync unlock.
but now i see a problem, cannot unlock only gate for delivery like their advertisement.

and wondering why i set 10s auto lock gate, but need to wait 30s.
so now i will touch the keypad to let it lock immediately.

also bought a yale/august connect bridge from amazon to link to internet.
don't get yale link bridge, don't work.

need to be unlocked state, poke in, then set to the password u want. default 000, suggest u set new pw before installing

I bought one from shopee ~$4 to replace for my mailbox several months ago, quite easy to install ~5-10mins with just spanner & screwdriver. Reuse old tongue as the new 1 is slightly too long and will be blocked.

initially wanted to get a digital one (number or fingerprint) but eventually skip the idea to avoid future hassles (eg. low batt, spoilt etc)

personally review is good, just that the numbers are a little too small to see/unlock from a distance <1m
