need to be unlocked state, poke in, then set to the password u want. default 000, suggest u set new pw before installing

I bought one from shopee ~$4 to replace for my mailbox several months ago, quite easy to install ~5-10mins with just spanner & screwdriver. Reuse old tongue as the new 1 is slightly too long and will be blocked.

initially wanted to get a digital one (number or fingerprint) but eventually skip the idea to avoid future hassles (eg. low batt, spoilt etc)

personally review is good, just that the numbers are a little too small to see/unlock from a distance <1m

will it be easily hacked? e.g. like the other type where a magnet is all it takes to open it.

which model is it? i am trying to find a more secured keyless letterbox lock.

contemplating on getting the augustlock, but the review on amazon abt wifi connection dropping and battery life is quite a concern.

Existing users any feedback on 4th Gen?

TY in advance!
If battery life is a concern then Just go with the 3rd generation.
I just bought the 3rd generation for my new place since I have a 3rd generation currently in use and have no issues with it whatsoever.

its a mechanical numbered lock, only way to hack is spending time trying the 1000 combinations.
yeah i saw the electronic numbered lock easily unlocked with magnet thus skipping that

Probably need a very robust WiFi signal. My Nest Hello kept having vexing dropped connections until I fixed a mesh node within 3m just for it .. zero issues since. Previously it was about 8m away.

If battery operated try stay away from rechargeables.

See if other August lock users can chime in..

Thanks just changed to this. Mine has an external rubber ring which I feel could easily come off over time and disappear.

i was looking at one of brand for gate.. thn i saw this comment.. any1 know what it mean?

You will face problem when one of the handle is in low batt or spoilt. If AI self learning is mentioned don't even think of it. You know what I mean.

Hello! May I know if we have old RFID cards from our previous digital lock, can we use it and register it to our new locks?

Hi, my house has a old Gateman lock and I am having trouble finding out how to change the PIN. Does anyone know? This is how it looks like.

hi,

anyone using smart or digital lock for their letter box ?

can share your experience ?
a must have to be truly keyless. do take note the direction of the unlock (clockwise or anticlockwise), and purchase the correct version of digital lock.

Same brand - very likely yes.
Different brand - probably yes but do research to find out if they are using the same RFID specs.
