I bought their deadbolt lock too. Kaadas was $200 cheaper but the design and user experience of Igloohome is more refined. Even the unlocking chime is more pleasant to the ears.
Igloohome push pull below 650 good deal?

Been using the Aqara A100 for a month or so already, and can say that it’s been quite good so far. At first I thought I would use the home key function all the time, but I end up using the fingerprint function more because it’s easier 😂

But good to have Home key as back up lah, no need to worry about leaving the house without key or forgetting about pin.

another major plus point is the integration with my Aqara switches, so when I come back home at night it will auto turn on my designated lights.

now if only there’s some way to modify the A100 or D100 I wouldn’t mind getting one for my gate too to have my gate locked yet still allowing wind to come in.

I would like to think (really do think) that having the fingerprint scanner on the lock handle makes all the difference in this aspect. For a distinctive enhanced convenience, a fingerprint scanner on the handle is really nice.

I used to think I can live without the phone (at times) but I was wrong . It is now quite "integrated" to our body (unlike the house key).

If you can work with a gate supplier to design a gate around Aqara mortise digital lock, I would think that would be quite re-usable (for the supplier).

Hah the thing is I’ve moved into a BTO and I’m quite happy with the HDB provided gate. Don’t think I wanna spend money just to change the gate 😂

I’ll keep an eye out for HomeKit enabled gate locks, as unlikely as they are.

Am a new user to digital lock, have been following this thread for the past year or so and the general consensus (and recommended by the store) is go with Energizer Max. But they caution against buying from Value Store, better to purchase from Supermarkets or Petrol Kiosks.

Those sold in discount stores seemed to be made in Indonesia (the same type that are sold on Shopee/Lazada), so a little confused on this.

There were also users that posted rechargeable batteries like Eneloop which have low self-discharge works too, Panasonic Evolta was mentioned too.
Besides energizer, anyone else tried other brand batteries which is also long lasting?

I been using Panasonic Evolta. Can last around 1.5 year on my Yale. I generally avoid buying batteries from value stores (only from reputable sources like NTUC) especially for expensive or important electronics like door lock.

The Energizer brand has a few types but I assume that you are referring to Energizer Max (the "regular alkaline" one).

Would you want the outcome to be
  1. replace less often (and you don't mind paying more)
  2. equivalent to energizer (capacity and price)
  3. equivalent to energizer (capacity) but cheaper in price
The above is to elicit clarity to the question.

I have used all those sold in NTUC over the last decade (and sometimes those from the value store. I have to say I am no wiser at the end because the testing is not well in controlled environment and there is still insufficient data points. Perhaps someone in this forum does but short of a paper, it is perhaps anecdotal (and also the lock has to be the same model and of same usage profile).

I would suggest that short of searching for suitable carefully controlled battery reviews , you may want to rely on variables that are easier to grasp as the savings isn't that great assuming yearly changes. Assuming a mature production technology, and local marketing pricing and distribution forces at play, using "similar" price as "Energizer Max" would give you the answer (in the local off the shelf context). I would also go out on a limb to suggest using weight of the battery (assuming comparing alkaline to alkaline) as weight is an indicator to construction and the folds.

Or if you need variety beyond what is available here on the shelf, search Amazon for those from overseas. Search always for alkaline type for apple to apple comparison with "Energizer" (assuming Max).

Did I missed answering your question completely? If so, just ignore my post. I was trying to give (my) perspective to a seemingly simple question.

Yes, it can be installed on "double leaf door" - generally speaking. However, I am not doubting the vendors (statistically speaking, if both say the same) and that leaves the question about: definition of double leaf door, or your double leaf door specifically, or something else about the door (miscommunication).

If you would like to, you can PM me the door photos - I like to know too the discrepancies involved here between my understanding and the rest. It may not help the outcome (if vendors still say no) but it might clear the air a bit on the discrepancy in understanding.

FWIW if you like to research more....

. They are different D100 products despite sharing the same model number. Taobao versions are without Apple Home Key support and Zigbee support and comes with more risks ( door issues prevent installation, etc).

Indeed. I just checked Taobao.

It's 260+ SGD (excluding shipping)

If you don't need Home Key then you might be fine as long as you have your own installer~

But then im not sure if this version can be added to your current Aqara/Xiaomi Hub. I think that's always this doubt when importing electronics from overseas.

So far I can tell you I rarely use the Home Key feature. But I can see its uses especially with older family members. A lot easier.

You can get Aqara D100 with installation + 2 years warranty for $5xx via Lazada.
Just wait for those monthly sale events 7.7/8.8.. etc
Grab those coupons or "play" with their in-app "Lazzie" to get points/coupons.
Use the mobile app to checkout your purchases, not using the web browser, those promotional coupons will not apply using web browsers.

For Lazada, once you have grabbed your coupons, it's yours, unlike Shopee.

Yes, it is always this doubt when importing... if the price difference is small, can still take the risk but for this item, the price difference is attractive ;)

I do prefer to have Home Key feature although not a must but good to have and most importantly need to add it to my Aqara M2 hub.

Nice! Thanks for sharing this tip. Will check out the Lazada. Is it from the official Aqara store?
