Hee. If its a week earlier, you would have got from AD $12640.

Nonetheless, good deal. The new Sub date is a huge upgrade in quality as well.

Depends on how much you are willing to spend. If you wanna buy from AD, be prepared to start a journey with them by buying a few other non-popular watches to start the queue.... Not sure if it will come in time before his birthday.

Otherwise, just consider getting from grey (re-sellers).

To cut the long story:

Demand for Rolex sports watches, especially in steel, far outweighs supply. Hence the market has a mechanism that reflects this.

You can’t walk into a Rolex authorized dealer and buy anything anymore. They might put you on a “waiting list” or just tell you out right it’s not possible to buy one.

Buying one from an AD in time for your son’s birthday will not be possible. The only feasible strategy is simply to buy one from a grey dealer at market rate, which will be much higher than Rolex’s MSRP.

If you buy physical gold or silver, you would know this. Rolex MSRP = spot price. Actual purchase price = what you end up actually paying in order to take the gold home with you.

Decide on the model you want to buy, search for it on Carousell to scope out the actual trading prices, then pick one to pull the trigger on.

No need to fuss over a few hundred dollars or even up to $1k difference between sellers.

Plenty of grey dealers around. Simply look on Carousell and see who has been in the game a long time, who has a physical store, who has consistently good reviews over a long period of time. I won't name names because I don't deal with a lot with greys, preferring to deal directly with owners instead. But there are plentiful online.

Omegas are not "easier" to purchase. They are simply easy to purchase.

anyone knows if 126711CHNR is easy to get overseas?

I don't think i will have a chance to get it from Singapore AD.
