Haha, no wonder "Hublot" sales going great the past few months and many more Hublot appearing in the grey market. Better buy ladies datejust models instead, easier to move in the re-sale market then some Hublot 44mm and 38mm big bang.
Yes, the Hublot sales first hand going great as many are buying them to get allocation for Rolex. It works especially well at THG as Hublot is a THG “exclusive” brand. But because of this, many also dumping the Hublot in resale market and so be prepared to lose quite a fair bit if buying Hublot to journey for Rolex as there are too many pieces out there in the resale market. But if it’s just buying one basic Hublot and can get a highly sought after Rolex sports model, it is worth it in my opinion to stomach the few k of losses.
but if you ask me, to buy a 50-60k Hublot so as to get an allocation for Daytona Panda, it is NOT worth it in my opinion (I know someone did that and he got an almost immediate allocation)

minus 4-6k off teh grey listed prices…those are their margin buffer
Isn’t their margin for watches like the 126622 super low? Why would somebody buy from AD at 17k then flip at a loss to grey dealers unless they’re getting 18-19k on it then grey dealers listing at 22-23k.

The savings and time waiting not worth it

Of course I’m not so high level like you
Nothing to do with high level or not. My take:
if the watch to bundle cost less than 15k and the loss is only 5k when you sell it, why would the savings not be worth it? Eg Pepsi at list price is 14k plus and you lose 5k from selling the watch, end up pay 19k plus for it and the current resale price for BNIB is 34k. It is still a good 15k savings. Is that not attractive savings?
The wait is long of course but i’m not in a hurry and honestly I can’t afford to buy more than 2 Rolexes in a year in any case. So the wait suits me fine. If I go grey, I can only buy 1 Rolex in a year and I would have no opportunity to build profile with the AD.

Which ad so nice let you take a 15k watch that only took a loss of 5k and still allocate Pepsi?

The AD that is exclusive distributor of Hublot. I got the classic fusion and sold at a loss of 5k. Allowed to queue Pepsi and waited for 8 months for it. Was also allocated the SD43 SS while waiting for the Pepsi.
That‘s why I did mention that the seniority of the sales person is also critical. Another sales person of the same AD require that I spent at least 50k on the boutique exclusive brands with him before I can be considered for a Pepsi. Maybe it also help a bit that I started this profile building thing early. I’m not sale if this sales person (who allocated the Pepsi to me) will do the same for a new customer that just start with her in 2021 or this year. Every year the maximum number of watches I will buy is 3 and I will sell one of it to at least have some funds to continue buying. So I’m not bothered at all by the long wait at the AD
