Black sub is a historical favourite of Rolex sports model. It is not meant to be exciting. It is a safe choice. Usually if you collect Rolex watches, the Black Sub would be one of the models you will start first and if it’s the only Rolex watch you would buy, then all the more it should be the Black Sub.

This i totally agree, its the safe but boring choice. But adding a little bit more to get starbucks over the black sub would be my choice anyday, but then at that price point u have other choices like batman already.

Boring or not, it is one of the classic Rolex watch one should have and will not regret to have due to its long history..
And it can be less boring with 3rd party strap

Agree. I have only the Hulk as the Sub and I think one of these days I will definitely want to add a Black Sub to my collection.

Why not double down on “strip” since your in-depth internet research says it’s universally and commonly accepted and used?

Having a rubber strap definitely helps, because i did the same for my black gmt and it immediately had a different look and feel to it and i've kept it on the rubber strap on ever since.

Depends on AD, but im guessing a simple/basic hublot or franck muller should be sufficient. But most importantly as a entirely new customer is that you have the SA advise you on how to go about it. As many people have mentioned here, they have been caught in a limbo buying certain watches and not getting any allocation for their ideal watches albeit simple ones.

THG promise my friend a exp 2 polar after buying a TT Diamond Dial 31 Datejust. the ***** sales keep pushing him away saying i will try my best.

THG can suck it.

Sub ND just buy from grey and be done with it. what a waste of time dealing with THG and Cortina. of course if you have long standing relationship with them good for you, you will keep getting watches but that doesn't work for everyone.
