there are still people selling at 17+ on carousell. I just checked.
never liked airking, when it was readily available at AD at 8k+, never thought of buying at all too. my friend bought it though

I think ever since the ceramic Daytona came out, people's tastes have changed to favoring white dials. And if you think about it, how many models in Rolex's entire catalogue have white dials and how many have black? You'll see white is more scarce. And as with all things in life, scarcity = higher value.

Ah I see. Thanks for sharing. The 1 I bought from my friend is a 16570. Just that he happens to want to sell it and show it to me. Ok with white dials but always kinda prefer black. But someone told me it is best to look for newer models without the lug hole. Well, looking at the prices now, it is really very difficult to choose. Those newer ones is really expensive.

if anyone can help you attain your first Rolex, they might as well attain it for themselves.

its a very realistic world now, every piece of Rolex is a profit. There's no right or wrong or whether you feel if it's ridiculous to pay that amount for the model you want. i think if you really like it then do it early then you can enjoy wearing it longer, cos you know there's literally no other way EXCEPT go grey or build relationship with the AD. If you wait, you will forever be waiting.

If some brothers already had a good relationship with their ADs which they spent effort on, why would they wanna intro you, which sort of add on one competitor for them.

first - i can build profile with my AD
second - i dont want any of my friends to keep harrasing my AD after they bought their first watch and requesting for sport models. wait my AD become frustrated and ignore me. lol
