A noob question to ask the gurus here.

Do you all use protective stickers on your Rolex watches to protect them from scratches..? :o
Don't let the opinions of others deter you from doing it, Its your timepiece that you bought with your hard-earned money so its natural that you want to protect it.

The thing about stickers is that they often have a yellowing issue that occurs as time passes by (the variance is quite huge as I've heard it happening in a few months to only after 1-2 years) and its few hundred $$ everytime you have to change it, not to forget that there might be some uneven marks on the watch after removing the sticker due to the natural wear on the areas without sticker.

So in a way If you're keeping the watch long term, it makes less sense to sticker it as the cost adds up and you're getting uneven wear that will also result in a polish none the less.

If you don’t wear often, then the watch is less likely to get subjected to being knocked, maybe even less reason to put on the protective stickers? I stopped putting it, especially gold pieces as I think gold should be admired in its natural form.
I’m one of those who put protective coat on car during grooming sessions. In my opinion it just makes the maintenance of the car much easier. 1 coat plus 3 grooming sessions which can last me for 2 years. Quite ok 😅

Used to put. But never put on my new sprite, and one day before I do housework, I took off the sprite and put it in my pocket, with the intent to protect the sprite from all the accidental knockings during housework. But at the end of the day, I noticed more scratches, on the bracelet and case back. For the bracelet, I figured that the pointed end of the clasp probably rubbed against the bracelet when the watch was in the pocket. And for the case back, I figured the back of the clasp (facing case back) probably rubbed against the case back lol. I was sad for awhile to see more scratches, especially on the case back when it’s nearly impossible to have scratches. My intent of protecting the sprite by putting it in my pocket actually created more scratches lol facepalm.

Watch protection film is a strange one. Nobody will belittle you for getting PPF/ceramic coating on your car, or screen protector for your mobile devices, but people can get so opinionated about watch films. Try it once, if you don’t like it, just don’t ever get it again. Do what makes you happy is my motto 🤷‍♂️

Purist collectors will keep their watches in storage unworn while enthusiasts will relish the patina they create on their belongings (like rimowa alum luggages)

I still feel putting plastic protectors on watches, like the recent trend in putting protectors on rimowa alum luggages is trying to have your cake and also eat it.

Can resell and list as mint condition even though seller already worn/use it for years 🤣

Yup, a lot of listing's on carousell. Feels like the owners can't bear to see dents on their alum luggages. Should just get plastic luggages from the get go :ROFLMAO:

Mainly transparent plastic cut outs I would say, if cloth cover then cannot show off the person using rimowa le mah :s13:
