Lost touch with watches.

Thinking of getting a submariner with date.

Can anyone recommend an AD? and what would be a fair price to pay for one now? Dont want to get ripped off.

Thanks!

Online selling at about 10k for grey set. Think you can bargain a bit for the price.

Local ad selling at about 10.6k and no bargain in the price.

All these pricing is for ss black dial set.

Current model gmt/submariner go for 8k+ depending on year. Brand new is close to 10k.

As your friend said, just buy those 2013 and above ones that are in good condition. They should cost about $8500-$8800.

If you want most value for money, go for second hand, won't lose much even if sell back shop. If you are anal about small details like hairline scratch or you want to be the 1st owner of the watch, get a brand new.

actually i saw some old model like 2000~2003 which some actually going as low as around 6k, is it advisable to buy those? or should i only buy those which is from 2013 above one? and is there any difference like maybe the time or value? because i don't think i would sell away after i brought it also..

You are in safe hands as long as you go for sport models like sub and Gmt. No matter the year, there is a strong demand. Although when buying those, you might want to take note of the condition first. See whether there are any dents that are polished over(odd shapes over the metal that is slightly curved), and the bracelet condition, must be at least 85% straight when held parallel to the floor.
