anyone just like me know nothing much about Rolex, walk in to Bucherer (AD) and the sales person recommend me a Batman(didnt know it was call batman at the time of purchase) at RP. Then I recommend to another uncle within the same tour group who also just like me have no idea it highly sough after then both of us walk out with a batman each becuz we just find it beautiful.

Do we consider ourselves lucky? BTW the AD is in Switzerland.

cant remember how much but I know it sold at Retail price stated on Rolex website, exact amount cant remember. it was on 2015.

Yes, Got my tax refund. I think in 2015 thing are really easier.

Actually I was being told that they are only allow to sell 1 batman to 1 tour group. therefore they refuse to sell to the uncle at first. then the salesman get approval from his manager before he sell to the uncle which we really didnt know why is it so hard to sell another piece. anyway looking at how difficult to get it now in AD, i think we are blessed with a nice salesguy

I am thinking of sending my watch in for servicing, but I have read on the forum a few years back that the quality of work from RSC SG was quite bad and watches are returned with new scratches on them.

Not sure if there are any improvement after all these years....

Hmmm, scratches on the lugs sure have one. But the question is are you willing to pay their pricing? If you are ok and at least prepared 1k of servicing cost then yes, can go down RSC.

Service and complete overhaul including adjustment of movement and tube replacement , crown polishing of the case and bracelet with watertightness test should cost $800 incl.gst

Don't forget market value of the datejust is around $3k plus wor... so service 3-4 times = 1 datejust watch.

The watch is still working, but they are charging me $1324 to service the watch, which includes replacing the hands and one diamond on the face of the watch. Rolex does not sell this watch anymore and the last time they sold it was $7000+.

Based on the cost of the servicing, is it worth it for me to fix it? Taking into consideration that the servicing alone is almost like 1/5 of the price last time. Also, will the value of such a watch rise with time? How do I sell in the future? Who do I sell it to? How much can I sell this watch for?

New DateJust is the worst investment if u want to get more than what you paid.
If u sell to pre own shop at this condition maybe $1.5k; dealer need to fix up to sell and they need to profit. No harm being to those place and let them give u an offer. I checked it out years ago in Japan with my spouse 2 tone diamond DateJust just service and those place offer me usd$1.1k

Just google “FS DateJust 69173” ppl sell on forum to get an idea of local market.
