This kind of posts and conversations only serve to fuel the panic in the market... Human nature to be kiasu and fear of missing out. That explains the grey market prices.

Just relax guys. Let the global situation play out. You may be presented with a great opportunity a few months down the road, and even if buy from grey market, better prices.

unless their reserves $$$ very strong.

Just to clarify, I am not referring to RRP. RRP has never dropped at all in Rolex history. I am referring to market prices. Market prices could be grey dealer's prices, could be amount of discount given by AD. It's the going rate on the street.

Rolex market pricing is not just confined to Singapore. If global Rolex market prices drop, Singapore will surely follow. No matter how strong our reserves are.

That's good news if we in Singapore are able to keep our jobs and houses and income and yet benefit from global drop in Rolex market prices.

BNIB Datejust 41 with the gorgeous blue dial (who say's it's ugly?!). Both oyster and jubilee fresh in. Also have a Tudor Bucherer Black Bay for sale.

do you guys think that big name grey dealers borrow from banks to operate?
if they don't, i really dont see how this whole "system" (buying low, selling high) will fail. so long as they have holding power, i dont think they will crash. a drop in price during economic uncertainty, sure. but crash like having grey dealers shuttered? i think worst case scenario is them moving to online only platforms

It's also opportunity costs in keeping their cash in watch inventory.

When other asset prices fall, they may want to release some of that cash to put into other more profitable assets, hence they will fire sale some of their watch inventory.
