U anticipating it to be discontinued?
On forum I seen it going for usd$7.6k. Not going to pay premium if I can get it in states lower, of course it’s not BINB but 1 year old

Both watches quite diff.. depends what u like? Which it seems that the price is a key factor to how much u like one over another..

YM at 15.8k or explorer 2 at 12k I would go for YM la. Firstly YM has a new movement. Next, it has a platinum bezel and sunburst dials which are seen on premium watches. All these make the current price difference worth it. If both at retail then explorer more value la since 99% no changes coming up for YM in Baselworld 2020.

My colleague got one at retail. But he has a history of purchases from the AD.

My understanding is AD are not allowed to sell above retail. There was a circulation from Rolex warning their AD not to sell above retail or risk losing their retailer status.

That is how the bundled deal became so much more critical and, together with the lower sports models supply, somewhat shaped the current grey dealer model.
