Hi, new to this thread. Hv a sub. Can anyone advise how to rmove scratches on bracelet and lug?

Hi there....although it has been said using cape cod and DIY, but to be safe, it's better to send for buffing/polishing by either Rolex Service Centre (RSC) or reputable watch dealers. They can do it in a fraction of what RSC charged.... just my 2 cents opinion....

Well, depending on your budget, a brand new sub will cost you anywhere from $7k to $7.4k at most ADs. A pre-owned model can cost you anywhere from $4.8k to $5.6k depending on the series......

Do you prefer with or without lug-holes? Usually those without lug-holes are from the late Y-series, F, D and Z-series, being the latest series. Technically speaking, the movement is still the same, it's just how old is the watch.... so it's your preference. Hope it helps....

Cheers....

Well if you don't have credit withdrawal limit, you can use NETS. But I understand paying cash, esp at ADs, may get you a 'better' price.... Discount will vary from ADs to ADs...

If you do not mind getting a 2nd hand then you shld get it. Coz you buy brand new you straight away lose like $2K away...

Depending on condition for me,I dun really care how old it is. Sometimes new models can b in very bad condition and some old models that are hardly used can be good condition.

Reasonable price for which model?

Erm... you're buying new? or pre-owned? or you're selling? Anyway the following websites for your reference:

http://www.monster-time.com/
http://www.fareastwatches.com/inventoryRolex.htm
http://www.passions.com.sg/
http://www.ebronzeage.com/

But the prices vary from shop to shop.... There are many other shops that do not have websites and you may find a better deal at these shops - Sheen Watches, Watch Arena, etc....

Hope this helps..... Cheers....

Ok, thank you. I will take a look.

I am getting it for myself, if the price is ok. Maybe I get brand new.

Or else I will settle it with a pre-owned model.

Hi there ahboy... Y series or newer....i assume that you're looking for one that is without the lug-holes ya? Well the prices vary from dealer to dealer.... but it should be around $5k..... Peng Kwee? No experience dealing with them.....but one of their shop located at peninsula plaza right? Walked by a few times and asked them about their prices...wow...not 'cheap' man.... well that's my experience.... cheers.....

Thanks for the advices. actually I can settle for one before Y series (explorer II black) but condition must be 90% and above. The problem is that I've only know of 2 shop dealing with preowned Rolex. Passions and Peng Kwee... and they dun quote good price.. 5.5k to 6k.. Can recomend me a shop with friendly saleperson and good price? Thanks again

As mentioned by Ohlins, check out the last few pages of this thread for recommendations. Even on this page, there are already quite a few posts citing recommendations on pre-owned Rolex dealers.

But maybe it's high time the moderators create a Watch Collector's sub forum and move this thread there. At least we can post stickies on commonly asked questions.

1. 'How much is the Submariner/Explorer/ExplorerII/etc now?'
2. 'Where can I buy brand new Rolex?'
3. 'Where can I get the best price for Rolex?'
4. 'Who are the Rolex AD's in Singapore?'

I was very tempted by the Sub w date but too ex. Checked a few shops and they are selling at list price $7,444, no discount.

Depends on individual, I prefer the explorer2. which is going for 6k+ brand new.

Btw, anybody heard of the brand Ulysse Nardin? Wanted to get one, just donno whether it is consider as a playwatch or branded.

Ulysse Nardin makes pretty good watches, except that I feel their design philosophy sings to a certain niche group of watch enthusiasts. Pre-owned Maxi Divers can be had for about 3k plus (but using ETA movement). I remember seeing a piece at ebronzeage. Dunno if it's still there. But bro, make sure U like it, else it's gonna be costly if u suffer from buyer's remourse. :)
