Am planning for 3d2n stay. Browse through discoverytours.com.sg, paya beach resort and berjaya tioman beach resort, their accommodation photo in the website looks nice and good but wondering is it true as it is???

Prefer the nice and cleanliness accommodation, any recommended in tioman island? :look:

Thanks.

how did you guys travel to tioman? i know from mersing to tioman is by speedboat/ferry (how long does bluewater express speedboat take?)

also, from singapore to mersing...are there any buses that start from singapore that travels all the way to mersing? or do we have to go into JB first then take a bus from there?

If i not wrong, there's not direct bus from SG to Mersing, UNLESS you're taking package tour from agencies such as Discovery Tours.

Berjaya is the most high end hotel in the island. I personally find that Paya Beach resort also not bad. And you can see the beautiful coral at that area when snorkeling.

It had been more than a year I last went to Tioman, I always choose Salang Village as it is furthest north of the island. I choose to stay at Salang bocoz it is easier and shorter boat trip to Pulau Tulai(coral island) and Marang Rock, also just swim out from Salang beach there is a coral reef and some resident huge humphead parrot fish(if you are lucky to meet them).:s13:

Some underwater shots while snorkeling at Salang coral reef, taken with Fujifilm F31fd + WP-FXF30 underwater housing.

There are a few bus operators from larkin to mersing but i think the Transnasional got better service timing. At mersing there are 2 bus terminal now, the old R&R terminal is just beside the jetty less than 5mins walk while the new mersing bus terminal which is at town area is a 15mins walk to jetty.

Do check with the bus operators which terminal they stop before buying your ticket.

Im not a strong swimmer as well bro. A life jacket is suffice is the current is not so strong. But then, on a side note, you will simply drift far away if the current is strong. Just be more careful and snorkell in a group.
