Tips to build a dust-resistant PC?

Is there any way to build a PC that will not build not dust over time? Conventional PC builds comes with fans that sucks in air and dust get build up after a while. Water cooled PC have risk of pumps dying or water leaks.

Is there a way to build a passively cooled PC without water or fans to minimize the amount of dust buildup? Exterior dust is fine since those can be easily cleaned. Lazy to clean the insides.

Positive air pressure (more intake than out) + filters. In the past (not sure if that's still the case now) have those demciflex filters, magnetic i think they're really good. Easy to maintain as well.

Use a large heatsink with large space between the fins.

I don't ever recall my Scythe Ninja having any dust buildup, even without filters or positive pressure.

I think filters is the simplest way

Passive cooling is not cheap

And without fans... Air trap inside casing... Is going to very warm

There are casing that have external heatsink... Those are better but pretty expensive and heavy

Fan filter + GT fans. If really want minimal dust, set ALL fans as intake. Rubbish temps but you won't need to clean the interior.

If air can pass, some particles will eventually pass through haha.


Unless 100% concealed, will still have dust. Those that say passive cooling, still got dust...

Just add some decent filters and that should be sufficient. You need a balance between good airflow and dust resistance. No point reducing dust, but have a very hot system.

Buy an air purifier and place it near PC. Reduce room's overall dust and contaminants as well.

Just remember to clean or replace the filters(purifier and PC) once every 3 months.

Use pc in ac environment, lesser dust
But still good to do some maintenance like ac systems periodically for it to breath easy

Convert one of your room to a class 100 cleanroom, complete with humidity controllers and hepa filters. That should keep the dust and rust away. I worked in a clean room environment and my work PC that is turned on 24/7 has no dust or rust after using it for 3 years.
