Will like to have some suggestion where to i stay in tokyo? Mostly will be shopping and eating. Which location will be better? Thanks in advance.
thanks for all input. Will consider all suggestion. Budget will be around $250 max for 1 night. Also will want to stay 1 night at mount fuji lake kawaguchi. Any good ryokan to recommend too? will be glad to spend more on the ryokan
i highly recommend Hotel Century Southern Tower... this is just across Takashimaya and stone throw away from Shinjuku station...
The room is big and spacious... The view from 30+ floors is quite nice...
Stayed at Sunroute before... the room very small...
And Grand Nikko at Daiba is quite nice as well... spacious room and big bathroom... i find that area if want to go shinjuku/shibuya/harajuku a bit not convenient... but daiba itself got a lot of shopping malls liaoz...
kadoya sold out!

I am planning to visit Tokyo on 31Oct-10Nov 19 too.
Total 6 adults, 2 are Pioneer generation and 2 are Merdeka generation.
I am looking for airbnh apartment in Ikebukuro area, 4 rooms in total and prefer to stay close to each other. Checked airbnh site, doesn't seem to find a good deal, anyone has recommendation? Budget - $120/room.
Meanwhile in Tochigi and Yamanashi prefecture:
Does anyone ever experienced entire villa or entire cottage rental? My budget is $600/night for a cottage house to accommodate 6 of us. I am planing to stay 3N in each prefecture. Since it is a self-drive tour, the more ulu the better, looking forward to stay in the wood.
With the new regulation it is quite challenging to find a good and affordable airbnb. How about hotels or motels in the western area of Ikebukuro? Rooms are small but should be within your budget or slightly more.
It was the tallest building at that time.Yes, knew about the new regulation. Any recommendation will be helpful.
Used to stay in Ikebukuro for 3 years 30 years ago. Google street view show not much changes in this area. The Sunshine Prince hotel was my dream hotel to stay when I was a student back then.It was the tallest building at that time.

I saw one nice airbnb a few months ago at Kichijoji area but the owner also stay at the same place but at different level. I cant remember which one exactly but I remember he's also pioneer generation![]()
