Thanks.

Would 2 days Disney land, and 1 day Sea an overkill?

Depends on your family profile. If you have more young kids, then they would have more rides in Disneyland. For a relaxed pace, 3 days should be good but more to overkill if you intend to visit other sites in Tokyo.

Sigh!!!!! I just got back from Tokyo on Monday and I missed the Dragonball event at Sunshine City (Ikebukuro) ... Anyone happen to be heading to Tokyo this few weeks and dropping by there? I need a small favour =/

different rides, different theming.

IMHO I would spend both days in Disneysea because it is the only one in the world. Disneyland can go HK, Shanghai, US, EU...most of the rides are repeated.

For Disneysea, it has some rides that are exclusive in Asia e.g. Toy Story Mania, Tower of Terror, Nemo or unique e.g. Journey, Sindbad's Storybook voyage.

the park itself is also very beautiful. will not regret.

Altho on a short itinerary maybe its a pity to spend 2 days in the park, unless u r hardcore disney pax.

If it's your first time, just allocate 1 day for either disneysea or disneyland unless you're a big fan. If your group is mostly teenagers and older, disneysea would suit you better. As the others mentioned, just check the website and see which rides do you prefer.

Just a note that if you want to queue for Toy Story fastpass, make sure you queue very early in the morning before hte park opens. By 10am, the fastpasses are all finished. Not sure what's up with this ride. I think it's overrated and now people go there just for the sake of getting a pass.

Big band beat is another show that you can't miss. It's written somewhere being the best disney show worldwide. There's another new show with a peter pan theme and new Nemo ride.

thanks for the answers !

by the way i saw that most of the shows seem to need some reservation and 1 or 2 needs to be balloted. how is this done? is it when you queue early in the morning or can you reserve online before going etc

Which shows are you keen? Some eat-in restaurants with shows are reserved for hotel guests. Whereas for outdoor performances, some require balloting for best seats e.g. Big Band Beat or Summer Festival Show or others. If you're looking at the day and night parades, there's no need to ballot.

Big Band Beat lottery details - http://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/show/detail/str_id:aw_band/

If you didn't get the L1 seats via lottery, be prepared to queue for the circle seats (L2) outside the theatre for at least 1-2hrs.

Likewise for other shows, the earlier you managed to "chope" better seats, the better view you'll get. Do note that at any point of time, there must be at least one person in your group sitting there with some belongings such as a picnic mat at open spaces for the parades.

If you're staying in a hotel, you can ask the concierge's help to make reservations at selected restaurants (http://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/restaurant/lists/park:tds). The one in Disneyland has shows along with your meal. Seats at popular restaurants are very hard to get and the locals are known to be extra kiasu when it comes to reserving the good seats.

reservations open exactly one month ahead. i went in ONE day later and no slots available.
want to eat at some of the restaurants there also need to book one or have to wait in line, just like the rides

we love japan coz they r so organised but sometimes it is just tooooooo much lol

hey guys, need some help!

im planning for a short 3 days tokyo trip and my first day in tokyo is gonna be disney.

assuming im taking the first shinkasen from Osaka-> Tokyo 6am, which means i'll reach tokyo around 840am.

I've been to disneysea months ago and i love it!!!
as this time i'll be bringing my mum along (mid 50s who's scared of thrilling rides), its gonna be her first time in disney.

so which would be better for her? SEA or land? i know Sea would be a better choice since it's only in Japan, but how about Land? what's the difference between these 2?

also, though my preferred hotel would be in shibuya/shinjuku, but since my day1 is disney, im thinking of either staying in disney resort or in Tokyo station. but i saw the price for disneyhotel was so expensive? around $700+? pls correct me if im wrong.

any affordable hotels for disneyresort?

thanks for the help in adv! :s12:

You're traveling from Osaka to Tokyo on your first day? Why not fly into Narita or Haneda? 8.40am is a little late if you're going peak season.

So what's the reason for wanting to stay at a Disney hotel? You didn't see the prices wrongly. It's around there and could be even higher, depending on seasons. Not easy to get a room too.

Cheaper ones - get official hotels like Okura/ Hilton/ Sheraton and others. Good neighbor hotels provide free transport - Keio Plaza Tokyo. This one is in Shinjuku.

There's no such thing as cheap for anything related to Disney theme parks and hotels. Lol.

You need to check into the hotel before making a reservation at the concierge for the free shuttle bus. The concierge would be able to advise on the available timings for the shuttle bus service. I'm not sure if you could just board the bus on the day of arrival. Could write in to check with Keio.

If it's me bringing my folks, comfort and pleasure would be the first thing for them. Not a mad rush for things that I want to do instead. My one cent.

I know it's not cheap. That's why I said I'm looking at Tokyo station's hotels too, since it's nearby compared to shinjuku.

Can look at Hotel MYSTAYS Maihama, can walk to DisneySea. That way if your mum is tired, not too far to go back to rest. https://www.mystays.com/en/hotel/urayasu/hotel-mystays-maihama/
good reviews on Tripadvisor plus got massage chair lol they have shuttles but only in morning and PM but if take taxi also wont be to ex.

last 2 weeks of April looks to be low season (based on Apr 2017) so I think you will be ok in terms of crowds. I won't really do Disney on my first day but I would rather visit on a weekday than a weekend.

I still think Disneysea is nicer...really more for adults. Disneyland is more for kids.

For adults, I'd recommend Disneysea as well but as you have been there a few months ago, you can let her decide which one she prefers. Both has rides that caters for both adults and kids but Disneysea has more of an adult theme to it. Disneyland has more restaurants with shows but need reservations.

For stays around the park you can check out the nearby hotels like Hilton, Sheraton, Nikko, that offer much cheaper rates. I can't remember the price but it's much cheaper compared to similar hotels in Tokyo. You can reach the park by its monorail.

Just take note that "it's a small world" ride may be undergoing renovations in Disneyland. Some rides on the western side of the park may be closed, next to tomorrowland.
