Just bought a M600 310 from COMEX yesterday. It was going for $1999, bundled with MS office 2007 and other freebies. Although its cheap, I'm still alittle disappointed that there's no 3rd year warranty and its not the latest CPU at T5300 and only a Vista Home Basic. Sigh....maybe i bought it on impulse but it certainly looked a good deal at that point of time. Anyways does anyone here knows how much does it cost to extend the warranty further to 3 years??

Think about 200 plus. must do it before 30 days or 90 days after purchase

Dam, I just called up the Toshiba Service Centre at NUS and they told me that laptops that are no longer covered by the warranty must be sent to the main service centre (should be at Kallang).

Just to take a LOOK AT the laptop costs $100. The fan likely to cost $100 to $200. That is nearly $300 just for a freakin fan man. Really sianzzz now. :(

Any one have lobang for second hand laptops which I can kope the fan from? :s27:

For the toshiba laptops purchased at comex, the free extended warranty that came with it "select serv" program, do we have to ownself register it online as it does not reflect in the website..apparently toshiba staffs when adding the extra 1gb ram mention that consumers dont need to register or activate the additional 2nd year warranty?

can anyone kindly confirm?

No need to, the reseller supposed to register for us, if not, you can have the registration form and reseller receipt as proof.

Something interesting to share though.

I sent my M200 (bought during last day of Comex) for servicing 2 days after purchase due to a dead pixel. I make at least 7 to 8 calls to 5 numbers of Toshiba to get them to agree to let me have the LCD replaced. I got it back last Wed.

Phew....

Well, considering I do not get a chance to power it on to check before buying, I will not stop hassling them until a manager tell me that I can't do an exchange. So I pushed my way all around inside Toshiba until they said 'higher management' decided to give me a LCD replacement out of goodwill. I made a total of 3 trips and 6 cab-rides for that pixel and I don't mind coz I'm don't think I wanna face it for hours everyday for next 2,3 years.

If I were to buy it from a shop, that super obvious pink pixel will not be missed once you power it on the spot. Buying it from Comex at a discount shouldn't mean I can accept lower quality.

I got a small problem here with my Toshiba A100 with me. Don't know whether anybody here can help me with ? It is a dilemma right now. I don't whether to go to SLS to have someone there to diagnose and fix my laptop or go to the Kallang Sector service centre after hearing all the stories here about it.

Currently, the Harman Kardon speakers are not working at all. No output at all. Not even a soft hiss. However when i used the earphones slot, there is output from there. I checked the drivers and they are fine. Nothing seem to be amiss. I even recover my harddisk to pre out of the box status but the problem is still there. It couldn't be a software failure then, hardware is more likey.

Anybody knows wat could be the problem here ? And where should i go to fix it ? SLS or Kallang ? Price wise on the repairs ?

Need help urgently. Thanks.
