1 more question, if I were to format the HDD before installing XP will the hidden partition which holds the recovery discs be wiped out? Or is it hidden?

It should be a normal 'hidden' partition. So unless you DO NOT do something at partition level and just format the 'normal' partition, it should not wipe out the recovery data.

Thanks. But if the M600 uses the standard Intel SATA drivers then I think SP2 should not have a problem recognising it. Anyway, just in case how do I install the drivers using F6 since there's no floppy drive on the lappy?

During the installation of your XP, there would be a grey bar below the blue screen moving. it would pause and wait for a while prompting press F6 for installation of 3rd party raid/scsi driver something like that.

You have to use external FDD/find a thumbdrive which can format into a FDD (newer ones cannot, i tried a 64mb one last time able to). Those in GB ones normally can't. i heard there are thumbdrvs that can cross boot as FDD but nv seen/used b4

Toshiba battery issue

Hi all Toshiba lappy users (or any lappy users for that matter).

I bought the M200-P430 at last year's pc fair (nov), and now i hav issues with the battery. No matter how long i charge it, it stays at 6%. When i plug in the charger, it will look like it's charging for about 5 seconds, then it will stop charging. This problem just started about a week ago.

Anyone has faced the same problem?

Most prob u have a spoilt adapter or battery. The former is more likely..

Get them replaced at the service center. They are still under warranty.

IMO, demand to change both.

I have the same model (bought in sitex 07) and the adapter died on me some months back, got it replaced (took 2,3 days) or on the spot if they have stock.

Hi,

I am thinking of getting a toshiba Sattelite M200 - E4112. Can users of M200 give me their feedback on the laptop because I am considering Acer Aspire 2920 as well.
Thanks

Vista SP1

Hi,
Did you guys get the SP1 for Vista yet from the automatic Windows update?
I know that Vista SP1 is out already but I do not get it via the automatic update. I want to upgrade to SP1 as I heard that it solves the webcam problem (working on & off with yahoo messenger).
Any ideas?

need help (autoshudown problem)

hi, im a toshiba satellite m70 user, been using it for a year and now it has a major problems..
it started to shutdown on its own, so i thought it was a virus and reformated it but after reformating, it still auto shutdown whenever it runs something a little more intensive (for example i was watching a high quality version video in cruchyroll or trying to beat the computer at MUGEN (2D fighting game) ) it's very irritating
how do i tell if it's a hardware or software problem?
for one i know that it gets super hot, as in even typing on the keyboard make your palms warm. is it possible to tell if any of the hardware has been damaged due to overheating?

because the problem started coming when i think i overused the laptop by playing cabal, my laptop often crashes with the game due to memory problems and maybe heat problems. then it started to autoshutdown.

i'd really appreciate if you can help me.
thanks a ton!!
---
and there's another problem, i dont know if it's just me or my mouse; ive had this autoscroll problem. whenever i move my mouse up and down or (sometimes) when i dont move it at all, it auto scrolls or auto zooms. and sometimes it doesnt. it's like some crazy scroll that moves up and down/left or right on its own.

thanks in advance!

New Toshiba Notebook BlueTooth Stack/Driver

I've totally given up hope on the APAC support download site, so am always searching for drivers at EU and US site.

FOr those still stuck with 5.xx bluetooth statck driver, here's the new version.. I've installed and so far so good, hoping it can have new BT services. Will give a report after more testing.

Here it goes... V6.10!
