i just bought a toshiba laptop too.I want to ask u guys..the first time i run the laptop,can i choose not to insert the battery and just run on the adaptor,since im at home majority of the time?thx

ya, in fact it is recommended generally. However, that means any power trip will kaboom whatever you are doing

Anyone facing a problem wif Tecra M5 keyboard? ever since i bought my laptop in 2006 it has been nth but a source of problems.. 1st adaptor, then charging unit then now keyboard keep auto typing the letter f only on a whim...

I'm on the Tecra M9 and I don't have a single problem at all. In fact, I dropped the damn thing from 1 meter, and the VGA connector and LAN port is a bit mangled with a piece of plastic chipped off. But, all data still there and the machine still works fine.

Tecra got 3 years warranty. You can call the service center and fix it.

i have a toshiba m100 laptop which is quite old.. bought a few years back..

the keyboard seems to be malfunctioning at times.. sometimes the fn key light will be on... then i reaslised most of the keys does not work.. especially the left hand side of the alphabets.. all the bottom row keys like arrow keys ctrl and alt all these also don't work.
or sometimes entire keyboard don't work..

then sometimes siao siao will work again,,/..

is it the keyboard spoil?? or heat problem?

please help me.. or recommend me a shop in simlim to repair? good service but don't anyhow hack kind..

Keyboard spoil. Shouldn't be difficult to change keyboard.

Maybe you can ask around the notebook repair shops in Sim Lim for costing.

anyone has the formatting program for M700?

i lost my cd some time back -_- and now i got a virus on my comp and it kinda crapped up my C and D drive so my internal formatter cant work

anyone who can send me the formatting program?

Btw to all potential toshiba buyers... DONT buy M700... it looks crappy compared to the other toshiba notebooks such as m400 and m800

Dear Toshiba experts,

I need help with my M600-3200M. Due to my stubborness of downgrading from Vista to XP and my stupidity. I formatted the harddisk (even the recovery partition is gone) and tried to install Windows XP by inserting the WinXP disc and set the Bios to run DVD/CD ROM as priority. However as I tried to install the OS, the computer doesn't allow me. Now when I turn on the computer, the screen just go blank. I cant even get into the OS setup.

Does anyone know what's wrong the computer has ?

What do you mean by doesn't allow you to? You mean you can't boot from DVD/CD? If that's the case, doesn't seem that bad. Have you tried booting the CD on another PC? If it's a duplicated copy form another CD, it could be the M600's drive inability to read from it, try getting the orginal copy.

Hi you should get the recovery disk of Your vista.

For me I install XP as dual boot instead of downgrade to XP totally.
