Mi Mix 2 VoLTE working instantly for me.

Reason: The unlocking code was applied before to enable VoLTE for M1 4G.

After creating the additonal APN "IMS" and saved, finally the VoLTE icon beside the connection strength showed up. Did some tests as usual and just wanna share:

-finally rcv sms from TPG abt device supporting TPG 4G mobile voice calling.
-sms sending & receiving to other mobile numbers seem to be ok and working.
-calls to my MR line intermittent (sometimes can, sometimes cant with voice recording of called number not valid)
-call to Zero1 and Singtel prepaid line ended up with the TPG recorded msg, sounds like a voice recording and told to use WA call to the number.
-did a test call to landline (weather info svc), can call out.

**Besides all that is mentioned above, I'm able to use data and sms from the time I started using the sim card and creating TPG APN as required for data.

Now my RMN4X is showing 3G signal for MR(1st sim) & 4G VoLTE (2nd sim)

For iPad need to put SIM in a phone first before putting into iPad?

I put in iPad cannot detect TPG at all...

iPad Pro 10.5, iOS 11.4

Edit: Got it working already.. didn't know can edit APN even if it says "No Service". Somehow when manual scanning TPG or "525 10" doesn't show up.. made me think it cannot detect TPG

Not sure why managed to get signal for a while when outside.
But no more signal at home.

Mi Max 3, Pocophone F1 and Redmi Note 5A all works with VOLTE and LTE. Can make and receive calls between fixed lines, TPG and Starhub/MyRepublic though a bit unstable (invalid number error: call twice) works.

Thanks for explaining! Downloaded a bunch of apps trying to analyse the bands but couldn't tell anything hahaha. At least now I know the reason

Looks like some Xiaomi phone is not a good choice for TPG.
So TPG actually use B40 for some place only and without B8?

seems like v2 SIM cards got problem...mine is a v1 SIM card.

on my Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 (test carried out at same location):
v1 SIM - can connect to B8 or B40
v2 SIM - no signal at all

on a Mi A2 Lite:
v1 SIM - can connect to B8 or B40
v2 SIM - no signal

HOWEVER, this v2 SIM apparently used to work on Sat morning in another location. Not sure if this affects all v2 SIMs, but do take note

Until today, I still cannot make calls out nor send sms. I tried calling to my office and home, it does not work. There is not even a sound in the background when my iphone was dialling.

Data works perfectly fine. I wonder whether it has to do with their backend activation because some users can call landlines while some like myself cant.

What is V2 SIM?

on the back of the SIM card there should be a v1 or v2 text.
if you have v2 on your SIM card then it means you have a v2 SIM card lor.

I have this feeling TPG support 2 bands 900/2300 but my phone works only on one of those bands which is why signal is so bad for me. In my house no reception. Near lakeside MRT have reception,but as I walk away from MRT no reception.

what phone are u using? i also stay near lakeside and using Huawei P9 which do not have band 8. always no reception.

Is Band 8 faster than Band 40? I see much slower B40 upload speed at 1 mbps, B8 can reach 20mbps, talking about upload here.

How do you know which band you are using? I thought it is internal and you won't know unless you root the device.

B40 is almost non existent. B8 is the band covering 95%.
