I don't know why you want to trash a brand when every single brand out there has their own fair share of spoiled products. One is just unlucky to fall into this pool.

Also Transcend can't rma for you if they never get your spoil SSD so you need to question Memory world why they never bother to send in your SSD faster. One of the reason might be they are waiting for a bigger volume before sending back. Else sending just a single SSD back will def cost more on their end.

I think most people are telling you that the delay is due to CNY. In Singapore, most companies give 2 days of off, but this is likely not the case for China and Taiwan. You can still find Chinese sellers that are still on leave. So instead of being so bitter with a brand for a general problem, I think you should look at the bigger picture. 4 weeks is standard ship back RMA turnaround time, and not something specific to Transcend. You may get it back earlier, though you likely will only get it back late due to holidays or some kind of disruption.
In any case, it is your choice whether to get this brand again. Just to highlight again, what you are going through this is standard practice. If you go to the distributor and they have no ready stock to replace, you will have to wait. It is not convenient, I get it. I've been through this a few times myself. And my suggestion is to just let it go and wait for them to call you. No point in you throwing tantrums, showing your displeasure. It won't magically appear on your table for doing that. It will just make you more bitter and you gain nothing.

thanks for tagging me, it's @MichaelTan by the way :)

I'm sorry this happened for your Transcend. As distributor, we do our best but within Transcend rules. We will alert Transcend to this.

Memory World has ALOT of stocks of my SSD on the shelves, saw it with my own eyes. (same model, same capacity)
BUT they INSIST they do NOT do 1-to-1 exchange, need to SEND BACK TO TAIWAN for RMA.

Although it is their prerogative to set their own policy, it's very disappointing that their after sales is repair and not 1 to 1 swap.

I am not a reseller nor distributor, so I can't comment on their procedure for RMA. This problem could either be Memory World, or Transcend. I pointed Memory World out because as far as I am aware, they are not a distributor. If that is indeed the case, then their stocks are likely parallel import, in which it is possible that they prefer to send in for RMA, and not issue a new and ready stock to you as replacement. But again, it is all speculation from me.

In any case, I rest my case here. It is what it is, and your only option is to wait. Rather than kick a fuss which is getting you nowhere, I rather you use the time to do something productive and better for yourself. Where the fault lies, Memory World or Transcend, I think nobody can confirm other than Memory World themselves.
