bought air tickets and booked a land package with a Sri Lanka agency coz those package in sg very expensive

itinerary
day1: Dambulla - Pinnawala elephant orphanage
day2: Dambulla - Polonnaruwa, jeep safari
day3: Kandy - Sigiriya rock fortess, tooth relic temple, cultural show
day4: Ella - Peradeniya botanic garden, Kandy city, tea plantation
day5: Ella - train ride, Ella waterfall
day6: Mirrissa - little Adam's peak, Mirrissa beach
day7: Mirrissa - whale watching, Galle fort, turtle hatchery

tour guide stopped by a road side store to get us bananas coz we were a bit hungry

the resort we stayed in is like a plantation, with padi fields and lots of fruit trees such as papaya, banana, grapes, mango etc

about 400 sgd for the air ticket on sri lankan airline
about 750 sgd for the land package, half board (lunch excluded)
whale watching is optional and cost about 100 sgd
tipping tour guide and driver about 100 sgd
expenses such as lunch and souvenirs about 200 sgd

total i spend close to $1600 for the entire trip

went to their national park safari. took an open topped jeep, can stand and enjoy the sights and the wind on the face (as well as the occasional branches hitting ur face )

the jeep ride starts with a jungle trail, but eventually exits into an open plain

the view of the plain with herds of elephants is amazing!

a lone peacock spotted near the elephants

breakfast in the same resort. the round thin piece of flour is called a 'hopper', also known as 'appam' in sg. didnt know it is sri lankan food, always thought it is indian cuisine

the Sigiriya rock fortess. a palace once stood at the top of the rock, now can only see the remains of the palace
