went for a short walk up little adam's peak. passed by tea plantation along the way up

long journey from Ella to Mirrissa beach, fortunately there are interesting sights along the way such as these buffaloes and elephants

stopped for lunch... rice and curry again. good thing i am a big fan of curry

we get fruits with most of our meals, and it is always the same 3 fruits: pineapple, papaya and banana. and for drinks, if u ask for juice, it will be the same 3 fruit juice

Mirrissa beach. most tour package wun go to this beach as it is quite out of the way. we specially requested to go there coz it is a whale watching spot

packed breakfast coz we have to set off early for whale watching

entertained myself by taking photos of the sea while waiting for whales to appear

whale spotted! Sri Lanka is one of the few places in the world where u can see the near extinct blue whale

whenever a whale is spotted, they will radio all the whale watching boat and all of them will converge onto that spot

after 3hrs at sea, it is time to go back

lunch at Galle. our most expensive meal probably coz Galle is super touristy. western food for a change

one last picture to summarize the essences of the trip...

it was a very relaxing trip, especially the 2 days in Ella. really felt in one with nature when ur balcony overlooks mountains and valleys, and when u can see fireflies in ur room at night

Just have a few questions.
Do you recommend kanota tours for pple visiting sri lanka. How feasible is free and easy as compared to tours?
Did you book the tour before arriving in sri lanka?
Is there a fixed tour itinerary for kanota tour or can you choose and pick the places you want to go.
How many people are in your tour group
