Just have a few questions.
Do you recommend kanota tours for pple visiting sri lanka. How feasible is free and easy as compared to tours?
Did you book the tour before arriving in sri lanka?
Is there a fixed tour itinerary for kanota tour or can you choose and pick the places you want to go.
How many people are in your tour group

Thanks alot in advance.

yes, i think kanota tours is pretty good :)
i have not done f&e in sri lanka before, but i think it may be difficult as a lot natural attractions are out of the way and transport will be a problem. language is another problem.

yup, book in sg first so they can pick us up at the airport

they have standard itineraries, but can customise too. wat we did is take one of their itinerary and ask them to add/remove some places

4 ppl in the group. it is a private tour

about 400 sgd for the air ticket on sri lankan airline
about 750 sgd for the land package, half board (lunch excluded)
whale watching is optional and cost about 100 sgd
tipping tour guide and driver about 100 sgd
expenses such as lunch and souvenirs about 200 sgd

total i spend close to $1600 for the entire trip

$1600 per pax?

Is it suitable for children? Is it safe?

yup, $1600 is per pax based on twin-sharing

yes, most of the places I went are suitable for children, except maybe for Sigiriya rock and little adam's peak. lot of steps to get up Sigiriya rock, so dunno if children will complain. similarly for little adam's peak, which is a small hill. u can always customize the trip and remove places which may be unsuitable for children

food-wise I am not too sure. my fren who doesn't take spicy food is okay with the food, coz the restaurants they bring us to are all catered to tourist. however, I dunno if the kind of food is appealing to children

didn't have any concern with safety, especially since it is a package tour and the guide is with us all the time.

evilerniex, I intend to go Sri Lankan with my wife in Nov and follow almost a similar itinerary as yours

If i have only 6 days instead of 7, can you recommend me which one to skip? :o

Thank you :o The weather should be quite nice right?

i would suggest skipping elephant orphanage since u will be seeing elephants in the jeep safari

whale watching is something optional that we added, so depends whether u interested in seeing whales. it takes about half a day
