I have been running it for several months...... 5GHz @ 1.52V

Well, its not as bad as some of you pple thought. Not like some oven or heater....lol....

It actually runs hot only if you use all 8 cores for benchmark nia.... But I don't do that, its basically a gaming and surfing machine to me. So when gaming, it doesn't produce that much heat. My 2 x 6970 actually produces more heat...lol....

Well i think a deterrent issue is low resale value. Few ppl want AMD products (outside of GPUs) so apart from the heat if you ever sell youre gonna have a hard time.

This is because amd is not as desirable

resale value for electronics? really?

what is the percentage of ppl who are consistently upgrading their CPU that they will keep buying and selling CPU whenever a new CPU comes out?

Even intel would have phased out with they mobo every 2 gen of cpu.

Even SB or IB compatible parts are still somewhat in demand today. I cant really find enough of an AMD user base to want to consider the same.

As always youre open to disagree

Actually the only problem is price rather than whether got pple want or not.....

If sell cheap cheap confirm will have pple buy.

I usually just sell off my stuff at a cheap price to get back some $$$. Else it will be lying in storeroom collect dust.

Thats what I did for FX8350 back then..... Sold cheap then buy 9370.

AMD still got community here one, in term of daily usage or for whacking OCing. You post AMD cpus in garage sales with the right pricing still got people hoot one ~

Yup, its always about price, not buyers. Sell cheap confirm got buyers.

The only thing is AMD cannot fetch good price unlike Intel. But I am not selling to recover my loss, just selling to get rid of unwanted stuff.

Well people do plan ahead when considering the purchase. You buy car ever thought of buying jaguar but worried that its too few in future hard to find spare parts or low resale value? Same logic

Err....... buy car is different from buy CPU......

Btw, that applies to B&B car..... If you can afford jaguar you don't even bother about resale value or repair.

If you need to think about resale value when you buy CPU, then I don't know.......pple buy computer to use, not to invest or anything.... I don't think anyone would expect computer to have any value after a few years......

myth on the part. thats like saying you can buy luxury car but dont care bout fuel consumption.

We still care bout such indicative values...

Well not sure bout others but I do feel about this at least...

So how much u think your rig is worth in the 2nd hand market? S$10k at least? Based on your logic.

Like it was said below, I will still lose less than a comparative AMD setup with AMD CPU and Motherboard because there is a stronger market demand.

I am sure you understand market forces.

However, we are talking as a whole here irrespective of what rig you or I possess There's really no denying this

That said I am not insulting AMD users but Im just suggesting reasons why some people might not be keen on converting from Intel

Buy car and buy CPU different. CPU use 4 years throw away already.

hahaha let me test water...

Who wan my 4770k? No box No receipt No stock cooler. Delided, lapped & polished so no warranty...... Max clock is 4.6GHz. Max useable is 4.4GHz.

I think I keep as keychain better
