True. If everyone gave both letters a second reading and realize what's is going on- it seems obvious that he was asked to resign and this is just PR material so that both the PAP and Lui need not face embarrassment.

Sacking Lui was ultimately for political goodwill, but it doesn't hurt that they got rid of an ineffective Minister in the process.

We can already see that there is some sympathy generated. Previous Lui haters are sudden apologists, it seems that no matter what, this move by the PAP was good and well calculated.

Everyone knows the problem is the immigration overload on transport infrastructure, coupled with the lack of MRT maintenance from Saw Phaik Hwa's time (who is Ho Jinx's good friend incidentally). There's no way the transport system can improve within 5 years.
