few misinformation in here but i will just give my point of view.

tuning does not always mean tuning for power. it could also mean tuning for FC, or even throttle response. what do you want to tune for?

if you want more tips, you can list your car model and i will tell you more.

there are alot of thing to tune even for stock forester. but sadly, the definition for your ECU is not fully develop yet for open source tuning.
alternative route is to tune via ECUtek but will void your warranty.

for subaru i normally lean out fuel as they run very rich in boost.
hardware wise you can also decat for lower back pressure which should result in a smoother spool

Tune after you've finished your mods. Not before.

I went as is and tuned in stock mode as I don't intend to mod.

Sorry bro. Somewhat confused here. Likewise Im not really going to mod the car so what does it mean to tune in stock mode?

I'm looking at better fc, gear transition and pick up. Probably that's about it.

True some cars have marginal gains so no feel.
Some jap & conti makes the differnece is obvious.
Korean cant say as never tried, but i guess Stinger should be very tunable too.

Means no performance mods, if after tuning, you want to add exhaust, wanna add this add that... your tune won't be valid anymore.

Even if the tune gives you 20% more, you won't feel it anymore after a few weeks.
