Why would Russia invade Turkey ? Putin even inform Erdogan the revolt happening. If Putin hadn't, Erdogan might be killed. US is currently shielding Erdogan's political opponent and does not want to send him back to Turkey. Weight the pros/cons.

But I do agree that Erdogan is not opposing for getting some benefits from the admission of these 2 baltic sea states.

The message is clear. If Turkey cannot join EU, Finland and Sweden cannot join NATO too.

Then must let Russia join NATO also. Everyone join NATO then no war, only peace and love but big loss for US.

Yup. I understand that Turkey had come out with a list of conditions to be met for Turkey to withdraw its objection?

Really smart of Erdogan to do that. He knows the US-led NATO is dying to have Finland and Sweden joining NATO, and would likely try its best to meet Turkey's demand (in order to clear the path for Finland and Sweden to join NATO).

For such 'golden' opportunity (to get demands met) is hard to come by - if it ever does. Turkey is indeed smart enough to capitalize on it!! :grin:

Maybe NATO can threaten Turkey that if they continue to cock block the new entries, NATO will kick Turkey out of NATO, let Turkey ownself deal with Russia if the latter do invade in the future. :s22:
