It's most likely that your panel is spoilt. It is possible to repair, but it wouldn't be worth it. Recommend that you get a new set :)

actually if you bought brands like samsung, LG, etc. It's quite easy and cheap to replace the parts inside the tv if it's faulty.Taobao is selling those spare parts, I bought a power circuit board recently for $34 to replace my faulty one which broke down after 6yrs and it worked.

Saved me alot of repair fee, btw I am not a technician but is savvy enough to replace the parts myself, just unscrew and screw back then plug in the cables only lol.

If it's the panel that's faulty then better just buy new one, panel not worth replacing, too exp.

My TV has got sound but no picture.
Instead of throwing away, no harm open up and see see right?

Searched youtube for help. Blown capacitors are main culprit. Checked mine, all capacitors seems ok. There were some cases of logic board issue. So no harm change the board and try right? So called Samsung. Their answer is that they don't sell internal parts! Got to send their technician down $230, excluding whatever parts required..

Any lobang? I'm looking for logic board for PS51D450.

Thanks!

TV Repair Services & Setting up Digital TV

Dear all,

I've heard from friends that it's getting harder nowadays to look for TV repair shops nowadays. My dad is still in this industry though, with more than 30 years of experience. Should anyone need a TV repair shop, here's some info!

  • Address: 354 Jurong East Ave 1 #01-06 S'pore 600354
  • Tel: 6560-9577/9674-2072
  • Repairs LCD/LED TV, DVD players, Hi-Fi Systems, Amplifiers, Speakers, TV/Any kinds of Remote Controls
  • Sells second hand TV, Amplifiers, DVD players, LD players (Laser Disc)
  • Provides set up service to receive digital TV signals (HD TV)
    MediaCorp is going fully digital

If you have any questions, or need any help, feel free to post them here or pm me. I'll get back to you asap.

You may also sms/whatsapp me at 8138_5015 for any urgent questions! :)

FAQs:
1] Should I go to my TV manufacturer's service centre or a TV repair shop?
I'm sure that the repair/consultation rates that any TV repair shops can offer will be lower than those offered by the service centres, not because of different standards of parts (don't worry!), but it's because the TV repair shops can pass on cost savings to their customers (such as having just a small shop to maintain; doing the job themselves and not hiring technicians or customer service officers)

To validate my claim, you may call and ask your TV manufacturer about the cost of sending a technician to your place, and compare it with quotes from TV repair shops.

2] Then how much would the consultation/repair cost?
Repair cost can usually only be determined after a review of the TV condition, which will be done at a small fee (consultation charge). If the problem can be determined without dismantling the TV, there will be no consultation charges.

3] How do I know if I should repair my TV or get a new one?
Try posting the problem with your TV here. If there is no need for an in depth review of the condition, I will be able to ask my dad for his opinion and save you the consultation charges, should it not be worth it to repair your TV.

However, do note that many times, an in depth review is required in order to tell what is wrong. No harm asking around for opinions first anyway!

4] I bought a DVB-T2 HD TV, why can't I watch the HD channels?
Firstly, refer to the mediacorp website above to check if your area can receive digital TV already.
Next, you will need to get an antenna to pair up with your TV in order to watch the HD channels.

5] If my TV does not come with DVB-T2, can I watch the HD channels?
Yes you can still watch HD channels as long as your TV is a HD TV. However, on top of the antenna, you will need a TV set-top box.

Lastly, my dad has many customers who forget about the warranty provided by the TV manufacturer and look for him to repair their TVs. Remember to check your warranty coverage and not spend the unnecessary money!

Hopefully this helps! :)

My house TV suddenly cannot turn on. The power light no more red (standby). Does this mean can buy new TV? Or repair better?

Current TV price is really cheaper compared to few year back. I believe your TV also more than 3 year ago, better to change in my opinion.

No one can tell from your post, you can bring it to the TV makers or make use of one of the repair people listed here, and check it out..

Good luck

Hello! It's most likely that the powerboard is damaged. The cost of repair will depend on whether it is repairable, or the powerboard needs to be replaced. Do you have the following info of your tv: Brand, size (inch), model, age.

If you want a quicker response, feel free to whatsapp/sms me at 8138-5015 :)

Hello! Do the yellow lines run from the top to the bottom of the screen? Most likely it's a problem with the panel. If that's the case, it wouldn't be worth it repairing. However, there's still a chance that it's due to the circuit board. The exact reason can only be found after a check on the tv. How old is your tv anyway?

Hi All

Our Living Room TV - Samsung 2011 TV (Model no : UA-46D6400UNXXS) has problems starting up after we turn it off for an extended period of time.

We will hear the tak tak tak sound and the red power led button on the front of the tv will keep blinking and we hear the tak tak tak sound.

This tv has no more warranty and we got it from Gain City Amk last time.

May I know what is spoilt and whether it is worth repairing or are we better off buying a new 46 inch tv?

Hello!

We can only tell the exact problem of your TV after doing a check on it, because it's most likely that something on your circuit board is faulty. As for whether it is worth repairing, it depends on a few factors such as what's faulty (that'll determine the cost of repair), how much you value this TV, whether you are ok with getting any replacement TVs (that can be quite cheap nowadays, but performance may not be up to your expectations). Do PM or text/whatsapp me if you need further help on this :)

Same here bro. Also got a 2011 Samsung tv. Got the tak tak sound I thought just some sound from the metal cover but been going on for years lol but never bothered. What's actually the problem ah? No major issues found though.. Tv all seemed working well. Just kinda annoying with the weird sound. Mostly only after turning off or during standby then got.

Hello! It's probably a problem with the circuit board. It may also be due to a problem with the panel. The exact problem can only be determined after we do a check on the tv. However, if it doesn't affect your tv usage much, I don't think you will need to send it for repair :)

Hi freakinclown,

I've got a 55" LG tv, think shd be 2010 model - can't find the receipt or manual. It can be powered on, with power indicator showing, but the screen remains blank. Doesn't have the "tiak" sound usually when the screen turns on.

Will you know if be problem is with a spoilt panel or circuit board?

Hello Tia,

We can't be 100% sure of what's causing this issue unless my dad does a check on the TV. However, we would guess that it is a problem with the motherboard (circuit board). Do you know how old is your TV? Perhaps you can check if it is still under warranty.
