Hello, just want to ask if its ok to pump 5-10kpa above recommended air pressure on the sticker? And how often to pump air?

Yes it is ok. I pump every 2 weeks. Hope this helps.

Think recommended once a month as I read somewhere but I try to pump weekly as to spot if there is any leak, imagine your tyre is spotted with a leak 1 month later??


As for tyre pressure, may stating down your profile so can discussed based on your tyres' spec.
If not, abit more always sound fine to me.

i heard pump too much no good... cos the contact on the ground will be lesser... grip wun be as good.

i only pump max 10 above the recommended (cos i upsize my rim by 1 inch).

Ya i got a question.. Im running 215/45/17" for toyota allion. Whats the optimal pressure to look for ? Bcos stock was 14"

Yeah, once i was pumping the tyres when i heard a hissing sound from my left rear tyre. Then i spotted a nail stuck on it. Since tyre was still well-inflated, i supposed must be a fresh wound.

Heng petrol station got a workshop. Quickly went to mend. $8.

so drivers on the road do not bother.
Even seem once driving with a half inflated tyre.
Do not know if he get to feel any diff?
But if doing that for 1 month, am sure the pocket will feel it....

Mine is 225/45/r17 and am doing 240 psi.
Feel fine to me up to date.

My tyre 195/55/15 on PS3s and I pump 250psi front and 245psi rear. Doing this for years liao. Only dulan that everytime go back BM for servicing, the SE will reset back to 220psi all round...

I kenna honked by an annoyed driver waiting behind me to pump tyres coz i dashed off to the workshop to ask if they do mending.

Now Civic like can stay at 220 for a long time... Maybe becoz tyres new...

Probably because your tyre valves are new.

there is a recommended air pressure stated near the door there... think u can try add 20-30 more then the recommended?

I'd copied and pasted this from a tyre FAQ in a thread some time last year:

Standard passenger car tyres (i.e. non-XL tyres) load ratings are measured at 35psi = 241kpa.

I don't recommend pumping any more than 35psi/240kpa though, because that will give you an overinflated tyre with uneven wear and reduced grip/braking.
