UNIQLO the new donut in town!!

que all the way into the toliet and then into the stairsway.. somemore have to walk up 2 story in the stairsway to que.. crazy man..

Today's better. They used chains to make full use of the space in front of their outlet.

The MIJs are really hard to button though. The assistant was practically pulling the jean apart while trying to unbutton the jean for me.

Anyway, for people going there, men section's on the right. Basic Polos on the bottom right. Ignore the UT section. Go straight, there's your short sleeve tees and Polos with pockets.

Top right, there's the short sleeve flannels and shorts/berms. Also office wear and colourful underwear/undershirts (U-shaped, V-shaped, sleeveless). There's a belt section near the dressing room for guys (belts going for $29/39 I think.)

Denim are right at the back. Ignore the $5 sale on the left to you. Really like pasar malam. Max 4 items for trying on. Agree with whoever who said if you wanna get a shirt, you can just try it on the spot. There are full-length mirrors, you just have to find them. The queue is really DAMN long.

UT

My No.1 Grouse would be the Poor UT Fabric quality. Enough said. Ive looked at the design(looks fine to me initially) and fondled the tees (wth! did ipzone manufacture the t-shirts or something??) a little. Crap. What kind of a company which promulgates good quality clothing would serve such obnoxious trash? My God, give me back my 1/2 hour of my life!!

i hope none of us purchases any UTs. Full stop.

My second grouse would still be on the UTs, my gosh...the cutting is terrible..if anyone had noticed, i woulda expected that the UT stuffs would be slim fit...but obviously, it isn't.

Polo Tees

It's very unimaginative...i'll only like the vibrant colors. Oh well =/
If you're into Fred Perry's, stick to it.

Basics

Yeah, ive felt the texture of the basics and its pretty fabulous, plus the cutting would suit the silhoutte of a slim person. Thumbs up ^^.

It'll be able to rival the likes of Zara/Topman. But, it'll lose out to minimalist CK. Well, CK's using pimab cotton - plus CK has a better sleeve length to shirt length proportion.

Jeans

Overall, the jeans are nothing outstanding to speak of. Oh well, i'll figure that im not matching it up against Club 21 Men's. At 49.90, i don't have any grievances against it.

The washes are very average, similar to the likes of Bossini/Baleno.
The raws are similar to Bossini/Baleno as well.

For the $49.90 colored skinnies, it'll be good if you're game on trying out different colors of clothing. It's worth your dollar.

For the 99.90 MIJ washed jeans, at its pricepoint, its probably the top of its league. It'll be able to rival Zara/F-CUK/GAP.

The washes are pretty good, but i'll suggest that you'll send it for tapering at Tet's Tailor in Peninsula. In terms of fit, its kinda baggy.

The $99.90 MIJ raws are not bad too.


Customer Service

Pretty remarkable. Kudos to the service staff who have assisted me.
You can reasonably expect the staff to greet you when you're coming in and when you're going out.

Summary

If you guys are looking for basics and underwears (i have to let you know that the underwear are damn fugly) , cheap blazers (The fabric isn't substantial enough for prom night/weddings) & cheap officewear, UNIQLO is worth your time.

If you are looking for superb, awesome polo tees, jeans & t-shirts with designs for casual wear over saturday..DON'T waste your time.

Uniqlo = The all new Muji after Topman takes over.

I would advise you guys to wait for ION Orchard to open, especially when there isn't a big crowd.

P.S To those who've felt that Uniqlo would upstage Bossini/Giordano/Esprit at its pricepoint..i don't think so. Uniqlo isn't Zara.

the boxers 2 for 9.90 not bad also la...so many designs and colors to choose from

Lastly for those who think that ahbengs, aunties will look stylish after buying Uniqlo stuffs, they are dead wrong. They may wear Uniqlo, but they will not look stylish.

Stylish people need to remember the 4 everlasting mantras of fashion.

- Overall Fit, the clothing has to fit one well, and the seams should fall exactly on one's shoulders. The clothing should be more tapered towards the waist area.

- Fabric, the clothing's fabric has to be of top-notch. Cotton quality for tees cannot be compromised.

- Color Coordination -> please match your colors well.

- Design - i hope its not like these..

Even Takuya Kimura would be pwned by this terrible tee-shirt...

I guess - for true lovers of quality & design..$300 SGD for a Dior Wings Tee may not be hype after all.

Yes, and experienced peeps would be able to tell whether a t-shirt's quality is good or bad with just one glance.
