for printed tees, i find celio's quality acceptable and mostly cheaper/better than uniqlo's. of course, everyone knows they won't be here much longer.

not that all uniqlo stuff are bad but you've to be selective and to make your every cents count, try to time your purchase during limited offer (so called). i'm a supporter of their dry EX polo, airism inner wears and chino pants. i'd a few keith haring printed tees, but they are either being threw or gave away. i only left with this green one which i find ok.

wonder who makes that unsubstantiated hypothesis that someone is expecting A&F quality out of a $19.90 tee. :s8:

How do you substantiate that Celio is better? :s13::s13::s13:

My personal experience, I find more good than bad in uniqlo stuff, in terms of material/construction quality/price ratio. At special sale and discount bin prices, even greater value for money.

Of course, design, cutting will always be subjective and in fact, I would advise one NOT to buy uniqlo if design/cutting don't meet your preferences in the 1st place.

For those who are old enough to recall the days before uniqlo came to SG and the type of stuff that was available at uniqlo prices at Giordano, Hang Ten etc, don't think there is much to complain.

I completely agree with this! Giordano, Hang Ten, fugly mishappen rice sacks with terrible fabrics.

there isn't a need as both statements are pointing to 2 different matters. one is a personal preference. the other is an unfounded assumption that people are comparing A&F with uniqlo. not too naive to tell the diff, right? :s22:

yes, i couldn't agree more. their airism items like crew neck and undies would go at S$12.90 during limited offer, which is value for money. then, there are also odd sizes or off season stock that priced at rock bottom prices. just have to look around those baskets next to the shelves if you are not overly fussy.

things that i would avoid or think 2x before getting from uniqlo are
- printed tees/shirts
- shades

stuff that i'm extremely satisfy are
- airism, airism, airism (need i say more?)
- dry EX polo (good cuttings, cooling, and practically need no ironing)
- belt (have one that lasts 3-4 years still in very good shape, albeit not a daily driver)
- a tough day bag (it looks like those which are from muji but at only half the price. too bad, they seem to stop bringing bags anymore)

Lol I'm not too naive to notice you say that someone is making an unsubstantiated comparison... and then proceed to compare uniqlo with celio without any substantiating your comparison....

Serious question how is celio better? I'm not saying that you're wrong just curious about your thought process.

Just drawing examples of higher quality tees like A&F/superdry
I'm curious how is Celio than Uniqlo better in terms of quality? Material? Stitching? Design? Cutting?

wonder who makes that unsubstantiated hypothesis that someone is expecting A&F quality out of a $19.90 tee. :s8:

thanks and really appreciate your clarification. i've no problem (and it's none of my business) what labels you want to draw examples. however, it's important to make known that that initiative comes entirely from *you*. otherwise, we might have uninformed and/or naive reader(s) who thought those were my words. =:p

i hope i can address your 2nd question in my subsequent post. but let me stress that i've never stated that all celio apparels are always better than uniqlo. it will take a fool to make that kinda comment. no?

i thought of attempting to write a detail analysis, which admittedly not my forte, to reply your concerns. but on 2nd thought, it will just encourage more reasonable/unreasonable questioning. afterall, it is always easy, not to mention cheap, to ask a lot of questions and just sit/wait for answers.

still, i owe you a reply. for that matter, you may take a look at my post #2958. if it is remain too difficult to comprehend, allow me to summarize them in to just a few words - personal preference + user experience (ie. YMMV)

i'm not sure if you misunderstood me that i blindly believe celio, regardless of products, is always better than uniqlo. that's not true. as an example, i generally prefer uniqlo polo tee to celio's. as the latter tend to use coarse fabric similar to those by giordano but at dearer price point. i digressed.

well, since this is an uniqlo thread, it may be benefitting if you could also share with everyone your take on their products? what were your favorite purchase or items? why? how's uniqlo stack up against labels like celio/topman/superdry/A&F? don't be shy ya.

I already did share my take. You then countered with an unsustantiated statement that ceilio's printed tee is better. Then I asked you to substantiated your comments and you've been avoiding the topic through obfuscation since. In fact, for all your talk of wanting to do a detailed comparison, but you've managed to make a substantiated comparison between Uniqlo and Ceilio's polo's while avoiding to do so for their tees. Lolol. So much for being difficult to comprehend.

If you want to say personal preference OK lah. Don't geh kiang simi substantiated substantiated then in the end ask you to substantiated you also cannot.

You then countered with an unsustantiated statement that ceilio's printed tee is better.
you felt "countered" because my opinion (see below pic) differs from yours!? or are you expecting everyone here has to align their views with yours?

you are quoting me out of context (see below). the hypothesis was referring to "someone is expecting A&F or Superdry type heavy cotton out of $19.90". the case in question is who was that someone? and trd2970 very gentlemanly declared that he drew the examples at his own accord.
you see, while trd2970 and i may not share the same views on some of the uniqlo products. he doesn't go to that extend of distorting my words or putting words in my mouth.

Exactly
For $19.90 we can't be expecting A&F or Superdry type heavy cotton
wonder who makes that unsubstantiated hypothesis that someone is expecting A&F quality out of a $19.90 tee. :s8:
it's really not my duty to educate you how to read.

Yes, and despite not wanting to type so much.. You've type more and more WOT without substantiating why celio's printed tees are better. I have no problem with your differing opinion. Just the high and mighty attitude of misunderstanding to TRD2970 post where you claim he made an unfair and unsubstantiated comparison when you were really taking his words out of context.

Do you really need to be educated on how to read and give context?

Don't get too full of yourself I'm only engaging you because you're a joy to troll what with the broken English and grammatical missteps interspersed with obscure vocabulary to lend yourself an air of self-importance?

Eh don't be long winded. When you getting around to it? Or do you really not know when substantiated means?

See two can play at the petty passive aggressive insult game. :s13::s13::s13:

oh when you make a demand here, does it mean i've to give in?

and why don't you walk the talk when you proclaimed this? :s8:
For their price point they are the best already...

Lol, for one you've already stopped with the pretense and started typing in short sentences.

You need help reading the quotes in sequence? You don't recognize snark when you see it, or are you so dense that it isn't even apparent to you?

And oh, I need to walk the talk? Walk simi talk? oh when you make a demand here, does it mean i've to give in?

Can you get your story straight not. First you say when ppl ask then don't need to comply.. But you did... Then you come around with that piece of nsark saying people make unfounded comparisons... Then proceed to compare celio and uniqlo without anything to back it up....

But wait.. There's more! When asked to explain why you though celio tees are better.. You avoid request by posting a WOT explaining why you rather not.. When that effort could have been spent actually explaining why celio tees are better. To cap things off you proceed to substantiate why you think Uniqlo's polos are better!:s22::s22::s22:

I think the confused one here is you. Type so much WOT but only manage to make a claim about celio tees that you can't back up.. Yet still want to be so defensive.
