at least their graphic tees have contemporary influences so it's not so bad, actually some designs are even pretty innovative...it's clean and fresh, sort of like a japanese take on spin the bottle moreso than giordano

well at least anything beats the psychedelic fresh imp garbage tees

so i can see myself wearing couple of their tees

their $50 jeans remains to be seen, most likely ill cop a white slim fit since i dont have that color and pray for a fluxus as an ord present :s12::s13:

Uniqlo is still definately better than Giodarno/Baleno etc. Quality to Price ratio for most of their items are way higher than the others.

Better than Giordano? Slightly.

After ive been to Uniqlo SG, Giordano Concepts would definitely be a notch higher than it.

However, its ironic that Giordano Concepts has closed down..

Yup...such a pity that Giordano Concepts has closed. Was a regular at the Wisma store while it lasted...sighz

Can only get them on my yearly pilgrims to HK from now on...

I am curious, coz i never got any items from uniqlo before.

Why is it that some are saying that there is a different in quality?
Are we saying that the stuff in uniqlo in sg are from different source as compared to stores in Japan and hk?

went dwn today. queue was pretty fast, maybe due to monday blues. but anyway, here's my two cents worth of review:

-practically, plain tees are the best deal. i felt the 14.90 and the 9.90 ones. no muc of the diff, maybe jsut a slight marginal diff in terms of thickness between the two. went for the latter one since 3 for 24.90.

-u got to see properly for the cutting of the plain tees. there's plain raglan, v cut and round neck cut. cuz bascially, its written on the packaging itself.

-dun think the UT are worhty even at the price of $20. material dun seems v gd, and designs are not v appleaing too.

-polos at $30 dun seems catchy, LOL, top up more and get lacoste would be gd

-as for the 24.90 plain tees, i dun see em as outwear, more towards sports dry fit type instead. so, got to be careful, as the material is totally diff.

-jeans seems a rather gd bet, as there are quite a no of selection for raw jeans, nt feeling those colured ones, as i think raw jeans will have a better colour or looks much appealing.

-those sweat parka at $50, well, i think hoody aren't in muc of a hype nw. but the material is comparable with muji ones and better than topman for sure.

didnt went further to see around, as there;s act not much of a surprise. maybe the ion outlet might be beter. fannels are rather disapoointing as they only comes in short sleeves and the colours are quite limited. plain tes FTW even though colours are only a few too, cuz is on par with zara's quality.

view of the day, maybe jsut wait til they bring in some more alternatives man. two tone raglans, long sleeves fannels and more variety of plain tees. :D

9.90 is basic, but quality act alr gd enuff. 14.90 heard frm frend he said it was gd enough for printing, 24.90, like i said, its more of sports dry material, so maybe, use as jersey? im nt v sure about the latter ones.

Which section was it that stocked the 9.90 and 14.90 plain tees? I only remember seeing those grey and white plain tees being packaged up. Seems to me it is like bedtime wear rather than going-out kind of tees... :(

the 14.90 tees are just beside UTs.
It has a better feel than those 9.90 ones and is abit thicker.

I think the UTs are printed on 9.90 tees.

If you like quality ones, i recommend the 14.90 tees!

What's up with this auntie and uncle discrimination? Sooner or later, all of us are going down that path.

Back to topic, The selvage jeans are true to size. I tried sizing down and could not put it on. They may be Kaihara denims but the hardware and quality is nothing to write home about.

Hmm, the UTs are in the front of the store right? Beside them I only saw those plain long sleeve tees. Is it near there? (Didn't see the short sleeve ones though..)

Field Report Trip #2

My main purpose of heading down today was to get my jeans I bought on opening day altered. I didn't get it altered on the day due to the huge crowd, and not being able to take my time to measure the correct length I wanted.

So, thinking sure no queue if I head down at 10am, I reached Uniqlo at 10.02am. Yes! I was right, no queue! But hey, wait a minute. The shutters were down. Thinking that they were not ready for opening yet, I walked around for 5 minutes plus. But the shutters were still down. I went closer and they pasted a freaking sign there that stated "We are open at 12pm today. Sorry for any inconvenience". %#$@%$%(*(*

I came all the way down from Marine Parade at 10am and you tell me you are opening 2 hours later? You mean they can just open at their whim and fancy? They didn't even bother explaining why they were opening later today. So, no choice had to kill time for 2 hrs.

Came back at 1145 and by then, the queue was at the toilet already. Crap, so joined the queue. I was expecting the queue to move super fast once it opened at 12, but i was wrong. It seemed the line moved at a rate of 10 people per2 minutes. And when i got to the front of the store, the store was so empty! There were like 50 odd shoppers in it only? It seemed like they were letting in people at a rate of 10 shoppers per 2 minutes only. Crap. So anyway, i decided to ask a sales assistant whether I needed to queue to get me jeans altered, showed him my receipt, and i was ushered in. Phew! I should have opened my mouth earlier man.

So went to the alteration corner and was told to collect the jeans on freaking Monday. That's almost a week. What same day alteration promise. What a load of bullcrap. I understand the huge crowds, but to wait 6 days?! Oh well, luckily I wasn't in a hurry for the jeans, but that meant I have to come down ANOTHER time just to collect the jeans.

Oh well, since I was in the store, I went to check out the plain tees that many were raving about. I liked the 3 for 14.90 'underwear' tees. The material was good and the size was fitting. Left with M onwards only.

I checked out the 9.90 tees and I didn't like the cut. M was too big for me, even though for the $5 tees, M was just right for me. Anyway, the 9.90 tees, size S was out, and M left a few pieces and colours.

So i hooted that pack opf 3 for 14.90 and one more UT. Fitting room this time, at most waited 5 minutes (with abt max 5 in the line)? The queues are strictly seprately for male and female, and they added 2 more portable fitting station next to the fitting room. That one no need queue - u see empty u just go in, but be warned that it's very small.

Overheard many passerbys saying that "there's nothing special" "it's just a Japanese Giordano" blah blah...then why so many people still?! It's nuts. Wonder whether 1 month alter still need to queue to enter the shop.

I am surprised there are no newspapers articles on this issue, but maybe that's good, if not once the newspaper reports on the queue, there will be EVEN MORE people wanting to check it out.

Gosh

the 14.90 tees are just beside UTs.

I prefer the 3 for $14.90 ones...ha
