no wonder the +J stocks are almost out even by opening day :mad:

http://onesixtynotepad.blogspot.com/2009/12/uniqlo-313somerset-store-preview.html

Everyone was running towards the +J collection, things were off the racks! Seeing so many people grabbing the +J pieces, I was worried that I wouldn’t get my hands on any! People were trying on clothes like mad but we waited till the last minute to shop since it was too hectic to have pictures taken and to try on the stuff. (Which btw, I find it extremely rude for most of the people who were shopping to ignore the UNIQLO representative’s speech.)

:mad::mad::mad:

For the mainline, its too expensive, but i gotta admit it looks fine..

However, contrary to what people believe, Jil Sander isn't designed by Jil Sander...w/e 04...its outsourced to some other designers who are less known.

The only genuine, unadulterated line by Jil Sander herself, the world-class maetro of minimalist ethos in her fashion wear....would be +J.

No joke. That was why i wanted to lay my hands on one of those pieces by Uniqlo +J.
Many labels which carried their founders name, no longer carries their founder's presense

my 2 cents, going OT for a moment, i think people should queue @ Muji under normal circumstances too.

Muji has great customer service, they've got sufficient stocks, their lifestyle products looks fantastic, and not to mention those japanese snacks which will elicit salivas.

Muji should collaborate with Jil instead of Uniqlo....there was this interview with one of Muji's head honchos..their philosophy for life, really resonates with that of Jil Sander's.

uh chris, raf simons has been at the helm since jil sander left in '04!

chris, forget it lah. try ordering online, uk site got sale for +J... :)

might want to note that there is apparently different sizing conventions for american/european stocks, at least that's what i've been told.

i went again tonight to pick up my jeans (altered the length) got to cut the queue cos i called earlier and they said to show the alteration receipt to enter the store without queueing

there's still stock for +J, but the nicer items are oos already, quite disappointed that i didnt see this white long sleeved button up shirt yesterday, they only had M and L sizes left for this today. out of the 5 items i bought yesterday from the +J collection, only the tuxedo vest is oos. i dunno if this means I didn't buy the 'hot' items since i picked up work basics from the collection.
speaking of ordering from the UK website, i'm tempted as well but the shipping costs to forward the parcel may not be worth it.

Jil Sander's aesthetics are mainly very basic, so don't expect much when you actually buy the +J collection. Honestly, there's nothing very exciting about this collection compared to other capsule collections like Jimmy Choo for H&M or Christopher Kane for Topshop. It's just kinda boring and everybody's buying it just because of the brand name. There's a brand ***** in everyone. Jil Sander really needs to reinvent the whole look she's doing for Uniqlo or otherwise the only thing that differentiates a +J collection shirt and another shirt of the same type would be the +J tag. Just hopes that SS10 would be better.
